We camped here with our 4 and 6 yr old and found the amenities to be old and run down. The shower rooms were also so small that by the time I had both of them in there with me there was no room, seating or hanging space. The childrens play ground is also the worst we've seen by far. Also...

We have been on the road for nearly three weeks on a road trip around SA and Vic and this is the best camping site so far. Shady, flat grassy areas for our hike tent, sealed roads so no dust, clean toilets, hot showers with decent pressure, and well equipped camp kitchen. A Short ride on our bikes into town...

The park is ideally located next to the Botanic Gardens with only a short walk to the town with large shaded sites. The amenities have been updated recently and are well maintained. Seniors discount is offered but WiFi is not given up freely with the price unreasonable

Stayed here on a powered grass site for 4 nights. Great location with the beach 100 metres across the road and the Mayne River behind. Easy walk into town and around the marina or along the break wall. The Park is enormous with good size sites, plenty of shade if you want it, or a quiet site away from everyone...

We are a family with 2 teenagers and we used a unpowered site as we are the sort of family that has bush camped comfortably. I chose Gardens by East beach because it is really close to the beach, close to town and at the campsite it was very green. ( trees, bushes, grass).the bathroom block was clean, the wall...

We have been staying here for a few years now during summer and love it. Great holiday atmosphere and so close to East Beach that you can walk. Kid friendly; plenty of room for kids to play on oval, at tennis or cricket courts, plus playground & gardens. Toilets/showers/laundrys are cleaned twice daily. Some facilities are more updated than others...

Gorgeous park - large, very large - has a football oval with grandstand in the middle of it. Approx 300 sites, but despite being at capacity it never feels crowded. Easy 1.5km walk to heart of town. Large spacious sites with plenty of grass. Dated, but clean amenities. The biggest drawback is the wind. We are camped riverside and it...

Pitched a tent here in December at one of their unpowered sites, clean facilities, good grass, not too far from the beach, we arrived quite late, but the caretaker was very helpful and obliging. Small tip: make sure you get to a bistro or restaurant in the town well before 8:30pm, as we got turned away at quite a few...

AND Oh the grass ...the luscious grass..You wouldn't want to keep your shoes on at all! My husband and two toddlers and I stayed here recently in our caravan and were happy with our choice. It's a fantastic location being under 10 minutes walk into town/ the wharf and the beach. It's peaceful and relaxing and the sites are really...
