This is one of the worst places I have ever stayed. There is no safe access to the pool for mobility impaired so I hurt myself getting in there. Then the “heated” pool was so cold it seized my joints up (hubby practically carried me in in hopes a nice warm dip would help my pain…only to get a rude shock). The spa in the pool and the external spa do not work. We then found out the breakfast we prepaid is served in the same area where I hurt myself getting to the pool. Over $300 per night and I am now lying in bed in agonising pain because they don’t care about mobility impairment. We have to wait until 6am tomorrow morning to find out if they will refund us the other two nights given I can’t access any of the facilities including food. Reception did not even care that I was injured, in pain and unable to access anything except my room. I will now have a very painful and sleepless night. This place need a major overhaul and to become more disability friendly because those of us with disabilities DO MATTER regardless of what Abbey Beach staff seem to think. Even with the facilities this place is not worth it given half the stuff doesn’t work or isn’t open on a week night. Staff need better training on customer service and customer care. I wish I had stayed home instead of wasting my money on what I thought would be a nice family holiday. I wish we had opted for one of the other hotels instead of this place. Abbey Beach should be ashamed of how bad this place is for mobility impaired and how their staff treat those that are injured, in pain and unable to access the facilities! They get two stars because the bed is comfortable but that’s all it has going for it. Otherwise those of us with impairments are discriminated against due to their lack of care. What a joke! If I could get a refund tonight I would be going home right now but given they won’t contact a manager I don’t want to waste $1800 ($900 for 3 nights and we are in two rooms so $1800) which is what we will lose if we don’t get a refund. We are on pensions and saved for months for this trip. Thank you Abbey Beach for making a family get away one of the worst experiences of our lives. I hope you lift your game and hire staff with better customer service skills and compassion in the future along with putting in threshold ramps for doors with steps so powered wheelchairs can get into the pool area and breakfast dining hall safely.

It was a really great location for a holiday as my son was one of the Leavers! The manager was excellent talking to everyone making sure they were aware to not walk around with alcohol as there will be consequences making everyone feel safe & accountable. The room was beautiful providing 3 bed/3 bath & a spacious kitchen/living/dining.Thank you for a great experience. My son was really happy he stayed at The Abbey!

Very pleased to receive an upgrade to a 2 bed ocean view apartment. Location was perfect with easy access to beach. Rooms were clean and comfortable although you could hear the plumbing from adjacent rooms. Would be nice if that could be soundproofed out! Breakfast was OK but nothing special. Dinner was a little better. Staff were helpful and friendly. Overall good value.

Nice Hotel/Resort (a little older) with reasonable facilities and friendly staff however I wouldn’t stay here again for the same price. Beach access is a bonus, especially for those who love a morning walk however no takeaway coffee sucks

We stayed here for my birthday for 2 nights and I must say, unfortunately it didn’t live up to expectations. It is in desperate need of some TLC and renovations, especially if they want to continue charges the prices they do!!!! On the positive: The staff were lovely Parking was free Great location - with direct beach access Shower pressure was great However unfortunately it missed the mark on a lot more: We never got our room made up in the morning or fresh towels - despite being woken several times hearing housekeeping knocking on other rooms doors. I called down when we got home from being out all day to check and was told this should have been done. They did apologise and offered to send someone up but at 6.15pm I couldn’t be bothered with it to be honest The water in the morning when having a shower was cold!!!! I called down to reception and they said the pilot had broken and was being fixed (it was by the night) They offered free breakfast for the inconvenience which was lovely but we aren’t breakfast people so declined the offer Beds were not very comfortable and pillows not great There were no signs around the hotel showing what way the lifts were or room numbers, so it’s a bit of a maze until you find your way (which with bags is a pain). They give you a map on check in but signs would be more helpful Overall I wouldn’t stay again - Bayview geograph next door is alot nicer and cheaper so would recommend to stay there
