You just feel different once settled into the Karri Valley Resort. The grounds, wildlife, quiet and simplicity of the experience makes for a total reset for mind and body. We've been coming with family for a few years now, and the kids keep finding new things to do. Bring your bikes or rent some, as the trails around the resort and BMX track bring hours of fun.

Improvements
* Prices seem to be increasing and for $370 a night for the standard chalet, a daily clean or at least refreshment of towels should be included. Bathrooms do tend to become a bit scummy after a few days but it seems that only the bins are emptied during your stay.
* Cleaning standards upon checkin were sound, but a bit more care with vacuuming under cushions and beds would make the experience better. We requested some attention to these areas, but they were only half done.

Overall, we love the place and plan to return again in 2025.

Just returned from a week at the new RAC Karri Valley camping ground.

Most notable issue is that the campground is not beside the lake/resort but approx 1.5km from the resort and lake and across a main road. This is not clear from the website and was a disappointing discovery when we arrived.

This is a brand new park with a fabulous campers kitchen and rec room. There is absolutely no shade so consider a gazebo if camping.

We had an ensuite site and it was the best facility we have ever booked. The powered sites were very roomy with a good handstand but we had friends staying on an unpowered grass site and they were v small.

Suggest not packing white clothing, it is very dusty and everything came home covered in red dust. And pack fly spray, lots and lots of flies!!

Used the laundry and there was only one washer and dryer (brand new) but only a small single washing line so pack your own.

The water was very chlorinated so pack your water filter jug if you have one.

Kids had a ball on the bike track and they could cycle around the park no problems. We played tennis and booked the kids into archery). Took our kayaks out on the lake every day (we tied them up at the lake instead of trying to transport them from the camp ground).

Walked the tracks to the falls and the walk through tree and highly recommend.

Day tripped to Manjimup for supplies and took the kids on the huge slide. Day tripped to Yearegup Dunes, wow! If u can 4 wheel drive highly recommend (the walk from the car park is approx 2km on sand track shared with vehicles) but well worth a look.

The Karri explorer trail is close by, lovely 12km drive (There is a wash down spot in the park for your car after).

Overall good experience and would consider a spring/autum visit

The restaurant was well below par - beautiful setting with a fine dining menu but without the kitchen staff to deliver. We had 8 adult meals and not one was acceptable, RAC should put burgers and pizza on the menu if they can’t get a chef.
The kids meals were really good (apart from the bolognaise which didn’t have any tomato sauce base)

Food aside happy hour drinks from 4-5pm highly recommended!!

The RAC Karri Valley Resort is a superb inland hide away, with great accommodation. The resort its self is just outside of Pemberton along the Vasse Highway 🛣️ and the lodges are set into the forest around the lake.

The is also a large caravan park there too.

The reception staff were very welcoming and explained where our lodge was on the handout leaflet, there is a very small store on site.

From reception to our lodge it was a short 5 minutes drive. The lodge was a single storey so no lugging cases up stairs, on sat right on the edge of the lake.

It had a small kitchen come washroom with separate shower, there was a good sized fridge, microwave and kettle, however No toaster.

The lounge bedroom opened up onto the balcony with lake views, a table and chairs for seating outside provided.

There was plenty of space with an additional single bed.

Wi-Fi is available and good however there was no phone signal in our lodge.

The restaurant along the front serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with a decent happy hour between 4 & 5

The lake was good for swimming in with a pontoon also you could hire boats etc by the hour. There are also some great walks around the lake.

We enjoyed our time here it made a nice change to the beachside hotels we had stayed at so far on our trip. I would recommend at least a minimum of 3 nights to make the most of the surrounding area.

Such a relaxing long weekend in Pemberton, with so many things to do. Three of us (2 adults, one child) stayed in a Lakeview room, which while not hugely spacious, was fine for the three of us. The balcony overlook the lake was a great place to sit and eat breakfast or relax with a glass of wine in the evening. Easy walk to playground, lake beach and activity centre to hire canoes/paddle boards etc.
I would give the Lakeside restaurant a miss - we went for the buffet breakfast one day, which was very average for the price. But you can get take away coffee from there which is handy!

What makes the Karri Valley Resort special is its location in the heart of a Karri forest overlooking a lake. It's quite amazing to be surrounded by giant tress in a serene setting. The resort itself is made up of a series of adjoining cabins which overlook the lake and chalets set on the hillside offering more room, but less of a view. There are many walking trails, natural attractions and canoe hire. The resort is about a 20 minute drive from the iconic Pemberton township, but driving through towering trees and rolling meadows. We stayed in a Lakeside Cabin with nothing between your balcony and the water. The view is really something and a great place to relax. While the cabin is small (a studio), it was far more modern, clean and fresh than we were expecting. The combined laundry and bathroom is sufficient but doesn't look like it's been updated for a long time. The only issue with the cabin is that the timber flooring adjoins the flooring of the next door cabin and as such noise travels easily across cabins. We unfortunately had a heard of elephants staying next to us so heard every step and stomp for the entire time that cabin was inhabited. Plus what was really disappointing was the provision of 2 incredibly uncomfortable chairs in the room that just didn't match the opportunity to sit, relax and just look at the view. Why do hotels do that??? But overall a great place for family's and anyone wanting a tree change.

We are not new to RAC Karri Valley having stayed here on previous occasions. This time we booked a Lake View Chalet as we were taking our Dad on a holiday to celebrate his 90th Birthday. Upon arriving we were met with friendly staff. A routine checkin though with not much banter or general chat. We proceeded to chalet 36 and settled ourselves in. A beautiful chalet with a Lakeview situated on the edge of the resort. (We asked for this particular chalet as it wasn’t too far from the restaurant and easy for my FIL to navigate) upon opening the door to the balcony it fell off the railing and fell backwards. We managed to get the door back on but had issues with it for the whole stay. The wooden balcony railing looked broken so left the table pushed up against it so as to not have anyone lean on it. Other notable things were the rug in the main living area was dirty and needs replacing and the carpet in the main bedroom had been vacuumed but also dirty. Ok so onto the a very big issue which ultimately spoilt our time here. We were enjoying the serenity sitting on the balcony and had only finished discussing how beautiful the lake was with the trees being lit up at night when extremely bright lights (security lighting under the walkway) turned on from the lakeside chalets across from glared onto out balcony, killed any vision on we had of the lake and surrounds. After a while we ended up going inside where we still had the light shining brightly and also into our bedroom. Closing the curtains wasn’t an option as it was hot and we needed any breeze we could get. (I did mention it to reception the next morning ) it was so disappointing as for most part sitting out on the decking at night after dinner enjoying a glass of wine was one our most favourite things to do. This was something we had looked forward to for months. We get that the lighting should be functional but it should also compliment the surrounds and provide a positive experience for guests. Upon checkout I mentioned it again and the reception wrote the complaint down (wasn’t it note already?) We have had no follow and it appears no one actually took our concern on board.

The other issue was with the hire of the canoes. It appears that there are not enough paddles to go with the canoes so impossible to hire a canoe without a paddle. Unfortunate when you have already paid the $25 for a days hire.

The Lakeside restaurant was completely disappointing . Booked for a 90th birthday celebration. Out of all the mains the beefs cheeks was the only meal good enough. Don’t make it “fine dining” if you can’t find staff to follow through with it. Why not serve great quality burgers and pasta dishes as well as introduce some local produce on the menu.

To be fair we really love Karri Valley Resort and until now it it always one of ur favourite placers to stay. It’s unique in it’s location but this stay was disappointing.

I hate to be negative in my comments but feel the need to be completely honest.

We were strong-armed into booking in because we had parked in a spot with vacant land where there was a flock of kangaroos. No signage to say it belonged to the caravan park across the road - if there had been we wouldn't have stopped our self-contained RV. Too dark to find somewhere else and dinner on the table. Had to book a site in a park that was nearly full anyway and very noisy. Had the most expensive showers I've ever had to pay for the experience. Fees would be better spent on better signage, or adopt a more generous attitude.

Generally a lovely relaxing place to stay with beautiful view over lake and lots of walks around. Beds are very comfy. Staff are all very helpfull. Stayed in Lakeside room with balcony which was lovely but the place is showing it’s age and there needs to be some attention to detail. The toilet shower area has seen better days. Little detail like the toilet brush holder was very old and Rusty. The sliding door to room 2 (next door) sounded like a freight train going through the building when ever they opened it and shook the whole of our room! Kettle and Microwave supplied but had to ask for plates and some tongs to be able to use the bbq as staying for 5 nights and the restaurant food was very limited and expensive. Breakfast was pretty ordinary so went out early for walks and breakfast off site.

We loved our room and while we could hear everything happening above us (including the person snoring!) It didn't take away from the magic of a lakeside room. And while the restaurant wasn't great in both service and food (only one marron available in the entire restaurant) the general atmosphere of the park made up for it.

We had a ground lakeside room and caught two trout off the balcony which was amazing. We walked the lake daily and kayaked across as well.

Things that could improve our experience would be politer and more knowledgeable staff in the restaurant and an outdoor mat to go into your room to reduce the dirt tracking in. Also numbered parking bays as we often missed out on parking near our room and had to park ages away then walk the rain.

Sorry no they do not have interconnected rooms. The villa houses however are staggered up the hill from the lake so you would have lake views from them. They unfortunately are not on the lake edge.

Hi Alice, there is a restaurant that serves daily meals, you can get a deal that includes breakfast. If you're holidaying here you'll need a hire car to see the many attractions. There is a General store on site for basics. Enjoy your trip. ☺
