Very friendly reception in any respect, authentic, cordial and never obtrusive. Excellent service with a good breakfast. You can walk to the sea in only two minutes. Highly recommendable. Will definitely stay here again my next time in Spain.

The hotel was clean with excellent services and a short walk from the sea front. The staff were very friendly. We had champagne for breakfast to celebrate our Anniversaries. Good places to eat locally.

Used TripAdvisor to find a hotel in Roses for a week's stay in September. This was the number two rated at the time and proved to be absolutely perfect for our needs. The hotel is centrally located in a warren of narrow streets and only one minute to the sea front. The standard throughout the hotel is excellent and the...

If you rather stay in a boutique hotel other than one of the big ones, we would highly recommend this charming and friendly hotel. 1 min walk from the beach, spotless clean little room (if you are willing to add 10 euros you can get a room with a lovely terrace). Secure parking for 5 euros a night. Excellent breakfast....

Staff excellent, especially Martine on the front desk, very friendly and helpful from the minute you enter the hotel. Breakfast room was big enough to accommodate everyone, and what a great breakfast. All the usual cold cuts, cheeses, jams, breads, cereals, but also eggs and...

We have stayed in this lovely resort many times but this was our first stay in this family run hotel. We loved it. It is so well situated - near to the beach and town centre. The parking was safe and secure - a short walk from the hotel. Our room was spacious - especially the bathroom. The pretty balcony...

Was able to find a room here last minute. Was a little skeptical because of the 2star rating but the reviews were good and they were spot on. We loved our stay; quiet, comfortable room and bed, very friendly, helpful reception. We actually tried to book a second night but hotel was full due to the busy season. Breakfast was...

The staff at the hotel are very friendly, the location of the hotel is perfect: near the beach and the town centre but without the bustling crowds, its very clean, comfortable and offers great value for money.

Well run, quiet hotel away from the busy beach and traffic. The staff was very helpful to accommodate any requests or answer any questions. We stayed in the double superior room with a balcony and it was terrific, very spacious, especially the huge tub! The breakfast buffet was well presented and kept well stocked and the coffee was very good...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel Carmen is a tribute to Carmen & Josep, who first started welcoming travellers in their humble home in the early 1950's. The three buildings that make up the property have been recently refurbished and turned into a contemporary mediterranean hotel with a peaceful and delicate design that evoques those times. The house is located in the center of town among locals and their daily lives, and just 50m from the beach and Roses' magnificent sunset promenade. There are various rooms types available for guests, ranging from large rooms with balconies and terrasses, to smaller ones with windows. What all rooms have in common are great ergonomic mattresses & pillows, WiFi, a laptop sized safe, minibar, satelite TV, plus l'Occitane amenities and a haidryer in the bathroom. All rounded up with a nice breakfast with plenty of local products and freshly made coffee. For travellers arriving by car a garage is available as well. ... more   less
