I have visited KIL dozens of times with students doing bear behavior studies. Concern and respect for wildlife is tops, as is the food quality and experience of all staff. I was not a paid employee then, nor now, nor in the future so I...More

This exceeded our expectations in 2013. A warm welcome on the dock of the floating lodge upon arriving by float plane was amazing. The bear watching is unbelievable! And you are so close! The whales! So many Bald Eagles! The kayaking felt like we were...More

Great location, accommodation and meals. Plenty to see and do with accomplished guides. Highly recommended. I wouldn't class the accommodation as luxury, but the location, sights and inclusions warrant the expense.

Hi, when is the best time to view grizzlies? I'm at a conference Sept 20-22 in Richmond, BC. HOW far would it be to come for the weekend, and what is the cost? Would the whales still be around at that time? This is on my bucket list! Thank you, Tracy Reaume

The tours don't cost extra. They are included and you get to arrange what you do each day.

Your options from Seattle woudl be to drive and catch the ferry to Vancouver Island or to fly via Vancouver. In the summer months Kenmore air has seaplane flights from Seattle to Campbell River.
