The view as you come over the hill and see the cottage below is simply breathtaking. Then, after finding the cottage is perfect, you hear...the silence. This is the place to come to really get away from it all. Yet, not far away is the delightful village of Roundstone. Of all the other places to see and visit, we recommend...

We've stayed in Cill Cottage twice, for a week each time. We wish we could stay more often! The cottage, on the beautiful little island of Inishnee, just across a bridge from Roundstone, is a perfect base for exploring Connemara and Co Galway, and the cottage is excellent - beautifully furnished and equipped and very well maintained by Geraldine, who's...

Cill Cottage is the ideal getaway, nestled on the island of Inishnee it overlooks the Atlantic and the twelve bens, every window has a breathtaking view! It was so cosy and homely from the minute we walked in, and Geraldine (The owner) had a beautiful fire waiting for us. The cottage is a 3 minute drive to Roundstone village and...

Our stay in Cill Cottage was in back in September and I hang my head in shame that I had not already reported the wonderful three days we spent there in great weather and with the ever-available Geraldine. Every aspect was welcoming; the idyllic setting, the quiet, the countryside and our host. One could have been quite happy to relax...

Just spent a wonderful week at the Island cottage in Rondstone. Geraldine was a great host and it was a great place to relax. My only complaint would be the Bar-B-Q is not like North America and I assumed a gas one, but we manged with the stove.

This was the fifth time we stayed in Geraldines cosy and well equipped cottages. Again had two lovely weeks. Geraldine is so welcoming and helpful and the place so relaxing and quiet with spectacular views and still close to everything. It was lovely to watch ducks going in line to eat and hear chickens cackle. We all will be back!

My mother was born and grew up on Innishnee and as a child in the 70s and 80s I loved travelling from England to visit family there. I even played with a lovely girl in a neighbouring cottage - and I was so amazed and excited to find that online that that same girl was Geraldine, and that she was...

Hi - We stayed at Cill Cottage, Inishnee last January and it was wonderful! The owner Geraldine was a very welcoming but not intrusive hostess and the cottage was warm and comfortable and very peaceful - exactly what we needed! We would definitely recommend this to people - even in January we were able to stay cosy and enjoy the...

    - the cottage is very well equipped - fuel for the fire was provided by the owner - the owner is extremely helpful and welcoming - the location is feels remote and completely away from the world, while the shops in Roundstone are only a 10 min drive - fantastic views of the ocean and the island, lots of wildlife...

We were fortunate to spend an idilic week at Island Cottage in September. From the moment Geraldine welcomed us with a blazing peat fire until she waved us away was a truly memorable holiday. The fully equipped cottage is in a wonderful location, quiet with spectacular views and yet close to the charmingRoundstone Village. Connemara itself offers many great places...

“Both cottages are on the ocean shore. Cill cottage is truly separate while island cottage is shared with the owner (although I do not think that is a problem). Wifi reception is much poorer in Cill cottage.”
