A pleasant alternative to a regular hotel, this is a home with 3 rooms to rent to guests. The room and bathroom were pleasant and clean. Air conditioning worked well in the hot and humid weather of Milan. Because of Covid breakfast was not included. Advertising about shuttle availability was unclear and deceptive. By putting “shuttle” on the hotel page we thought it was included in the room fee. It was not. It cost 15 Euros each way- an unpleasant surprise. Nevertheless the brother and sister team that run this place were hospitable. There is a good and traditional restaurant about 10 minutes walk away in the town.

hi like i told you during the ride; the shuttle service is described in the hotel page of booking.com (the website you choose for completing the reservstion) as a payment service; and we cannot modify how they described it on the page, so it isn't our fault. I'm glad to hear that you liked the stay, and i hope to see you again in the future. best regards Il Gelsomino

It’s around Ferno, located in the middle of a Village i think. The place is very cozy, the guy who welcomed us is very accommodating and provides a great customer service. There’s kitchen, dinning/living room area. The place smells good and relaxing. 1km walk from train station. 1 station away from Milan Malpensa Airport. The place also offers a private shuttle service to Airport for only 10 Euros. Highly recommended for people with early morning flight. And the jar of Biscotti indeed taste good.

We arrived around 5pm. Due to my saying we would arrived later there was nobody there. But we rang the phone number given and within 5mins a young man arrived, concerned in case we had been waiting for long. His english was very good. We were taken through the lovely garden to the stairs up to the rooms. The flight of stairs is quite high but well lighted. Our room was off to the right. A lovely light room with attractive wooden beams on the ceiling. We had a onsuite bathroom which was also very light and clean. The eating area was for the use of all the guests - no problem at all. There was a fridge-freezer, coffee machine, kettle, cups & saucers and glasses. There is a small terrace ideal for smokers. And information about the area. Our room had a TV (which worked perfectly). We were given fresh towels also. The breakfast was basic bit sufficient, especially as the price of staying is so.reasonable.This is a perfect place for either a last night stop off or for a quite stay, as the surrounding area was very tranquil! The airport is about ten minutes away. No photos, as I made a short video of the place. Would recommend Il Gelsomino to everyone.

I contacted IL Gelsomino from the USA, looking for a B&B that would keep my bike box for two months while on tour. They were the only one flexible enough to allow this. I stayed two nights in the beginning and three nights at the end. The room was exceptionally clean and attractive. The breakfasts were delightful. I felt very much at home during my stays at IL Gelsomino. They were so accommodating. The town of Ferno, where it is located, is a smaller community with friendly folks and interesting things to do and see. The B&B is only a five minute ride directly from inside Malpensa Airport. They will pick you up at the airport and drop you off if you wish. Il Gelsomino is a perfect place for a night before or after a flight, but I would say that it should be a destination, more than a stopover. If you want to just come to Italy for a short visit, IL Gelsomino might just be the place for a home base exploring the countryside or Milan. You will be treated like royalty at this B&B.

I spoke with someone at the BNB prior to booking, who assured me he would pick me up when I arrived at the train station in Ferno. Unfortunately, when I arrived in Milan there was a train strike from Milan to Ferno, with three trains cancelling, before I realized there was likely a strike, so paid an extra fare and took the bus to Malpensa Airport, called the BNB, and someone picked me up. I was told that the trains to Ferno are often on strike - something that would have been helpful to know ahead of time, so I could have planned accordingly. It also turned out that the other people working at the BNB had no notion of my prior conversation with the person I spoke with originally. After all the great reviews, I was disappointed by the interactions I had with the owners (aside from the very nice man who picked me up at the airport.) There was a lack of warmth that left me feeling like their only interest was financial. I was leaving early the next morning, and asked if there were be anything available for breakfast - and was offered coffee. (They did offer a pre-packaged croissant in the morning.) This was an extremely long day, as I had just completed a four hour train ride, in addition to the two hours I waited at Milano Central waiting for a train, and the 50-minute bus ride to Malpensa. While the room itself was nice, I would stay someplace else next time.
