The Hotel is nice very clean and cozy, comfortable beds, very clean, fully equipped kitchen, Very close distance to the beautiful sandy beach. There is also a nice restaurant in the neighborhood as well, Very good location. highly recommended for everyone. Thank you Maria and your lovely parents, we will definitely come back.

Maestralia apartments were a real surprise for us. The maisonette was very nice decorated, very spacious and clean. Ideal for families. The kitchen was fully equipped ; small details of great added value were everywhere in the apartment. Everyday cleaning available and super environmental friendly. The small individual garden was like an oasis in the desert while the sunbed was the place to be and the most wanted item in the house. The location of the houses is very good. If it is not windy prefer the Gyrismata beach. There is also a bakery within walking distance. The second gem was Marw the land lord. Upon arrival she drawed us a map with all useful tips (beaches, restaurants etc). She would always be around for even saying a couple of words, offering figs (try the ones from her grandfather's land) or even bringing us the best honey of the island. A very calm person which made our experience even better. Do not miss the sunset at Anemomylos cafe. As Marw promised from the beginning we would like to come back to Skyros and definitely our destination will be Maestralia.

Let's start from the beginning: we did book originally for one week....and finally we're staying 20days!!! I THINK IT COULD BE ENOUGH FOR GIVING YOU MY PERSONAL FEEDBACK. The structure looks very new and good conditions. There are just 5 flats/studios/aparts/lodge or whatever you fancy all very similar with front parking ground "balcony" on outdoor; then open space living room/kitchen with high chairs and table plus a bathroom on the ground floor. And 2double bedrooms(one really large) both with each own balcony(one front and the other back side) plus a large bathroom upstaris. So it's super for family as well as 2 couples(one of us also with a newborn baby). The strawberries on the cake are 2: the small but super cute back garden(ideal for breakfast/lunch/dinner or just aperitive)...and the host...which is called Maria, a fantastic smiling girl always ready for anything you need...furthermore speaking 6languages for anything wouldn't be clear enough for you. Finally the location, for me(stress by noisies) is just super...perhaps 20cars passing in front of you per hour....and perhaps 1every 20 minutes in the evening....but the noisies of the nature are the ones you'll remember only. I'm seriously thinking to book in advance for next summer. Of course, Skyros is a black&white island: or you love it or you don't. No mid ways....and we do really love it!!!!

The only "bad" thing about Maestralia is the name of the area - Xeropigado. I'm glad it didn't scare me away :-). We spent five absolutely great days there in early July of 2014. I could summarize our impression in one sentence: If I visit Skyros again, I will not look at any other place, and if there is no apartment available, I'd rather change the dates of my trip until there is. I always assume that photos on hotel websites are taken with the places beautified especially for the shoot (plus photoshopped later). But the rooms of Maestralia were better than their photos, which could not show all the little details that make the difference between a good experience and a great one. So look at the pictures with confidence that reality will be even better! The most enjoyable time was early (OK, not so early) morning breakfast under the shade of the huge umbrella in the cute neat backyard - the plants were real, the grass not, so it could be vacuumed within an inch of its life and not a single dry leaf or other litter dared appear. There might exist other places in Skyros that approach - not surpass - Maestralia in what they offer. But no other place has Maro (or her mother)! Always smiling, always eager to look for ways to make our stay more enjoyable. What should I remember first? The welcoming basket overflowing with information, maps, coupons, and goodies? (Ah! That homemade orange marmalade!) The phone call in the middle of a daily excursion to let us know that no, that particular beach did not have facilities after all? The polite request at the end of our stay for suggestions on how to further improve the quality of the place? We were impressed by how nice and polite everybody we met in Skyros was. But Maro was the nicest :-)

My boyfriend and I have booked a week at this hotel. We love Skyros and the accommodation we have selected the most best place in the whole island. We travel a lot, but such a hospitable, courteous and friendly family who run the place we have rarely encountered. The rooms were very clean and confortable. The price performance ratio is excellent and the overall package is simply loving and overwhelming. On our next visit to Skyros we will definitely come back to here! In this sense, Greetings to you Maria and your family

We spent 10 days to Maestralia in August with my husband and my baby son. The houses are nice, clean and well equiped. It is good that they have daily cleaning service. The owners are very kind and willing to help. In general we didn't have any problems just a small complain we asked for a late check out (mostly because of the kid) and although the house was available owners didn't agree because the cleaning lady was finishing early.
