We were on a tour of Alaska in March 2017. Lots of snow and cold temperatures. The tour was through John Hall's Alaska. It was billed as a tour for the Iditarod start and Northern Lights. What a fun tour. We saw the Iditarod ceremonial start in Anchorage and the traditional start this year in Fairbanks. We went to the...

My husband, another couple and I took the trip to Chena Springs. We had the driver and van to ourselves for the journey. Our guide was Branden. He is a native and very knowledgeable about the area and various aspects of life in Alaska. He was quite entertaining and made the long drive go by quickly. The compound is rustic...

The Hot Springs are DEFINTELY worth the trip and the restaurant was quite good. Not worth it:the ice museum...fun to say we did it...but not worth the $ for all 5 of us to go in. Rooms are dated and small...i wouldn't stay onsite for more than 1 night if we went back...but we did see a TON of northern...

If you want a beautiful drive, great experiences and to get away this is it. The sled dogs, ice hotel and hot springs made a day to remember for our family. Many off road and air activities are also available.

Chena Hot Springs Resort over charged my son and I, $250.00 on shuttle service (they charged me for 4 people and there were only 2 in my party). I called and talked to Nicole shortly after I realized and she advised she remembered my son and I and would have this fixed - it would take 4-5 days. A month...

If you are looking at this you probably are interested in going there. DON'T! Please hear my experiences out before you decide. We bought the package knowing they charge extra for it, in hope of getting great services. DID NOT HAPPEN. There is only 1 lady handling the package booking and the only way to reach her is through email....

The resort is funny, kind of flea market, with all kind of antiquities all around, a plane (yes, a real one) old rusty snowmobile, a mini zoo and a chance to see the Northern Lights (we were not lucky) The hotel is friendly, rooms are big and clean, excellent breakfast in the morning and especially a hot spring laguna where...

My husband and I drove from Fairbanks (a beautiful drive in late April) to see the Ice Palace at Chena Hot Springs. We didn't know there was a series of tours of the palace, and had to wait an hour for the next one to start. There was confusion about how to reserve/pay for the tour - we were told...

Nice drive here though it took a few hours from Fairbanks. Saw moose along the way. I got my car stuck in the dog sledding lane as I followed a misplaced sign. The staff were so kind to pull me out. Apparently they're used to those I only stayed one night as it is expensive. (Minimum $200 plus tax per...

My friends and I booked the Midnight Aurora Chena Tour for $260 each. It was a bit pricey but I loved the overall experience. Enjoyed the Ice Museum, hot springs and of course the Aurora Borealis tour!
