Stayed here for one night on a holiday heading towards the GOR. Beautiful homestead with stunning grounds. William and Ailsa were the perfect hosts. We were in the Schoolhouse - large and nice views to the dam. William also showed us the Mews rooms and they too were very nice just smaller. Cooked and Continental breakfast was excellent and good...

My partner and I stayed at Quamby during a Great Ocean Road Trip. It was our last overnight stay before heading back to Melbourne. We were in desperate need of a holiday after a very stressful time before and we were not disappointed. The property is a gem - if you are after peace, tranquility, relaxation, this should be your...

Thank you for your kind review of your stay at Quamby Homestead. We are pleased that you were able to enjoy your stay in the renovated School House (all the rooms have been renovated) and take in all we have to offer at Quamby, relaxation, tranquillity in the bush (countryside) but only 30 minutes from Warrnambool/ Port Fairy and close...

We had just one night at the homestead (April 2014) whilst travelling the Great Ocean Road. It was well worth the diversion. William was a first-class host, and as we were the only guests that night we felt like honoured guests. The grounds are beautiful and the rooms are excellently renovated. What a great setting for welcoming the weary traveller....

We are so pleased that you enjoyed your short stay at Quamby Homestead in the School House and the recommendation of an evening meal in the local pub (just a 5 min drive from here). We look forward to giving you another warm welcome when you are next this way.

We stayed at the homestead for one night during our trip on the Great Ocean Road. It's a bit out of the direction, but a charming place. We stayed at the old school building but unfortunately couldn't enjoy the environment as we had to move on to Adelaide. The staff are very helpful and friendly. WiFi did eventually work but...

Thank you for the review of your stay in the School House at Quamby Homestead. We have many guests who stay with us on route to Adelaide/ Melbourne while travelling the Great Ocean Road region who enjoy the stunning gardens and paddocks with cattle in a countryside (bush) location but only 25 mins from Port Fairy/ Warrnambool. We really enjoyed staying at Quamby over Easter weekend. The property is beautiful, and the rooms have been refurbished to a very high standard and are very comfortable. It's very dark and quiet at night, so perfect for a good night's sleep! The hosts are very kind and helpful. Our children loved the animals - there are alpacas, chickens, a...

We are so pleased that you and your family enjoyed your stay at Quamby Homestead (and that you spotted a Koala in a tree close to your room) as well as spending time with all our animals especially “Storm” the black miniature goat who loves to go for a walk on a lead just like a faithful dog! We stayed at Quamby whilst attending the Port Fairy folk festival for the Labour day long weekend. It was a very relaxing and peaceful respite, waking to the sound of the birds each morning , followed by a delicious full breakfast, included in the price . We stayed in one of the Mews rooms, which was modern and very comfortable...

We were only staying for one night and really wish we had stayed longer, we were in the Old School House so we were a bit away from the other rooms. It was nice just being in the silence of the countryside, also imagining the silence that would have been when the buildings were originally built some 150 is years...

We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay in the School House which has lovely views overlooking the dam and surrounding paddocks. The 2km parameter walk starting in the gardens and then past the dams and paddocks is very popular with all our guests, often wallabies can be seen by the top dam! We have plans in the near...

We visited Quamby on our way back to Sydney. What a beautiful home where we were warmly welcomed by William and Ailsa. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and comfortable and the gardens were beautiful and so peaceful! Could have stayed a lot longer. We will definitely be back when we next return to Australia!

Quamby Homestead, located just 25mins from Warrnambool and Port Fairy, is an idyllic stopover between the Great Ocean Road and the Grampians and en route to Adelaide. This historic (built in 1888) 4 Star homestead offers the opportunity to soak up some history whilst enjoying fine accommodation in the serenity of a 3-acre garden setting. Guest rooms are set within the botanic gardens, separate from the Homestead and all with private entrances. Or for a longer break the original School House and the converted 2 bedroom Carriage House offer the space to relax and unwind. The rooms, all located within the garden, have different outlooks - garden, farmland or the dams and farmland.
