Visited here whilst on a weekend away in the Lakes. The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly. My husband had a fish and said the batter was nice and crispy - will definitely return again.

We stayed as a family for one night so experienced the hotel side and also the food side. Firstly the location is beautiful and the building is a beautiful old world property. The room was very comfortable with lovely decor, we all had a great nights sleep. We had booked the restaurant for an evening meal and we were not disappointed, the pork main in particular was spectacular. The next morning we all filled up on a beautiful breakfast before setting off. We all had a lovely stay and hopefully we will return soon.

Cosy country pub with a lovely atmosphere. Despite how busy the pub was, the service was still very quick which was excellent. The staff were very attentive and efficient. The menu had a good selection of dishes and the food was absolutely delicious - highly recommend!

From the beginning the service was friendly, efficient and very professional. Our room was warm and well stocked. We then had a superb meal with a brilliant bottle of wine. Breakfast the following morning was again really excellent. Overall an enjoyable stay in an Inn where the staff are friendly and well trained. We will be back.

We stayed here for one night before moving on to our ultimate destination in the Lake District. The room was clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was a good size with excellent shower. The dinner was excellent with most generous servings of sea bass and battered cod respectively. Breakfast too was generous and excellent quality (particularly the sausage). The staff were highly professional if, (with one exception - reception), lacking in warmth and so it worked very well for us.
