The hacienda is very nice. It has a great view of the Cotopaxi Volcano. The construction and decoration of the house is amazing. Great breakfast and service. There was only one problem and it is that we didn't expected to pay $25 for dinner, specially when we spent a week having dinner for as low as $5 in Ecuador. Other...

Very cozy hotel, very friendly owners, homemade dairy products and bread, delicious soup, brand new calves to meet every day - a wonderful place to relax and recuperate after a strenuous walk in the mountains!

Spent the day horse trekking with Ceasar from the hacienda towards the dramatic billowing of Cotopaxi volcano. After meeting Ceasar and his two delightful children, and getting prepped on my horse, we took off at a gentle pace towards the ominous volcano. While the thought of riding up an active volcano may seem intrepid, I'd been reassured by others that...

We stayed at the hacienda for 2 nights. Our first 2 nights in a row in our trip - no better place to do it. The place is cozy, furnished with real antique furniture, rooms are very comfortable and big, or you can just sit in the living room by the lovely fireplace. But mainly - this place is about...

This hotel, someone's home and a traditional Spanish hacienda, is charming and stylish, with a sumptuous lounge area and formal dining room. The bedrooms are a touch less stylish, but still very nice. The location is quite superb, in its own grounds and with Cotopaxi towering above (you get a good glimpse by walking into the adjacent field and looking...

If you can plan - try to avoid Tuesdays as there is a tour group coming by and the chance is rather high, to get a room outside the main house. Our children's room was without windows and a little depressing (price then too expensive). The rooms are newly renovated - they have Swedish ovens which is nice, because it...

The first time I can remember that we haven't stayed in 5 star hotel.. and I'm so glad, this place is unique and really made our trip so authentic, staying in this couples amazing home! So helpful in planning our trip and an evening sitting around the table with the other guests sharing stories. This is a memory we'll take...

Hacienda Hato Verde is an amazing property, incredibly beautiful. But the biggest problem is they book thru a 2rd party travel company so I was charged when I booked, then I was charged again when I checked out. It has taken me 2 weeks of correspondence with the owners of Hacienda Hato Verde to try and get this resolved. They...

we have spent 2 nights at this really lovely hacienda. The owners are more than welcoming. The saloon in the main house is nicely decorated and its a pleasure to have dinner (and breakfast) in this environment. Unfortunately the rooms are far from being 'suites' as advertised. Further it can be really cold and uncomfortable. The otherwise cosy chimney in...
