Good value. On-site parking, nice selection at free breakfast. Happy hour from 5-7pm includes free drinks and snacks. Very friendly staff & clean rooms. Airport close so can be a little noisy at times but not overwhelming. 8 minute walk to beach & nice restaurants across the street. 15 minute drive to Old San Juan. You do have to pay for parking & there is a resort fee but it is cheaper than other hotels. We enjoyed our time there and would recommend.

We planned a trip to San Juan long before the recent events. Things unfolded rapidly while we were there, but the staff remained vey professional. The staff members are the shining stars of this property. All of them were very friendly and helpful the entire time. Hi Bryan Espanol! I also would like to thank the manager, Maeling Chung, for all of her help prior to arrival. She ensured we had connecting rooms and had a nice birthday acknowlegedment in the room. Thank you so much!

The hotel is in a great location. It's very near the airport and multiple shops and eating establishments. I'd recommend Metropol next door and Edith's Café right across the street. It is a short 5 minute walk to the beach, and the hotel can provide coolers, chairs and umbrellas at the property. I felt completely safe in this location, and I have stayed in this area during prior visits.

The common areas are nice and appear updated. However, the rooms show a little age and wear. Both suites were spacious and comfortable with enough room for my group of five. Both bathrooms could have used a better cleaning, but the other areas were spotless. I appreciated have the digital key availability.

The pool area was a nice gathering spot. It was fun to meet other guests during the happy hour and at the grill. Speaking of the grill, that food was FANTASTIC! Other reviews mentioned how tasty the food is and they are correct. I want to give a special thanks to the staff at the grill because they became overwhelmingly busy once the island-wide curfew was imposed. They remained friendly and cranked out the orders.

My only issue is having to pay the resort charge on the days there were no covered amenities during the island emergency.I do understand the lockdown was out of the hotel's control, but why are we still paying that? It covered the happy hour and beach amenities, but none could partake in either after the shutdown.

Even during the difficult times, our stay was very enjoyable. We appreciate all of the hard work the staff did while trying to navigate trying times. They were just as friendly at the end of our stay as they were when we arrived. I would consider staying here again, without a doubt.

Rooms are spacious, clean and a great breakfast is included. It's reasonably priced compared to others in the area that are awesome (which includes a resort fee for use of a nice pool), but good accessibility to hotel or local restaurants. Cab ride is about $20 to the airport (10 minutes) or into old San Juan. Rooms are well insulated but you can hear planes taking off all day and night if you are a super light sleeper.

I have a lot of experience with this hotel... While living in Puerto Rico, many of my coworkers chose this hotel to stay while on business travel from the states. Then once I moved back to the states I too started to stay regularly while on business and have stayed about a dozen times since. This hotel has everything you need: excellent service, pool with swim up bar, convenient location, breakfast included and is clean and comfortable. Sure it doesn’t have the more fancy resort style areas as some of the hotels on the beach, but those are also double or triple the cost per night. I definitely recommend this hotel for a comfortable and relaxing stay. While the entire staff is great, I must call out Jorge Mojica who is always extremely helpful and accommodating. His caring and yet laid back approach makes everything that much better. Thanks Jorge for always hooking it up!

I was racially profiled at the pool bar and was told on day 2 of my stay. Was told that tabs could not be charged to to rooms after we charged a significant tab the day before. After witnessing other Caucasian guest at the bar charge their tabs to their rooms I complained to the front desk who said they definitely accepted charges to the rooms. When they went to ask the pool staff why I was being told this his response was “these People lie about their rooms and we are loosing money. The front desk staff was very apologetic to me and passed their concerns to management.sad part is I went back to pool bar on day 3 with family and was totally ignored by the same gentleman and had to wait like 10 minutes before being acknowledged by a different attendant and I was made to feel like I should pay with my debit card so as not to be embarrassed again. The hotel had no problem charging my card on file the almost thousand dollars for my stay though. Want to make it clear that the front desk was very apologetic and the pool staff is a private entity but the room charge policy is accepted but just not for us on day 2.

Mr. Borges, I appreciate your time on the phone today. Like I mentioned during our conversation, we have strongly and definitively addressed and taken care of this situation. Please know that I understand how you felt. There is no place for that sort of conduct in our property and our long years of top rated customer service can speak to that. Lastly, I wanted to thank you for the kind words towards our Front Office staff and I look forward to meeting you in person during your next visit. We'll be sure to make it up to you. You have my phone number. If there's anything I can do for you, just let me know. Best regards, Omar Torres General Manager

My partner and I spent a week at the Hampton Inn & Suites from 5/19-5/26 and we were very satisfied with our stay.
The room was very simple and clean. It was not a luxurious place. It was a standard Hampton Inn & Suites. When we arrived we upgraded to a King Suite and it suited our needs. We normally stay at the Embassy Suites down the street but decided to go to the Hampton due to the price. We did not regret our decision. You get the same or better at the Hampton for less price.
They gave us some beach chairs we could borrow at the beach, no umbrella. First come, first serve. We lucked out and found some shade underneath some palm trees at the beach.
The continental breakfast was simple but very good for us. It was well organized and plentiful. Although we had planned to go out for breakfast at our favorite spot near the hotel, we ended up not going and had the breakfast at the hotel.
The beach was a two-three block walk, no big deal for us.
Our room was cleaned almost everyday we were there.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The pool area was simple with a fairly small pool but it was fine, nothing fancy. We only swam in it once since we are more beach people. Since this hotel is so close to the airport, you can hear the planes take off and land. This is epecially noticable at the pool. We could also hear it in our room but not too much. It really didn't bother us since we knew this before booking this hotel. We were ok with it.
In general the hotels in Puerto Rico are extremely expensive and offer very little but we found the Hampton to be reasonably priced in comparison.
I would definitely stay there again.

We had a great stay here. The staff is fantastic. Everyone is polite, kind and helpful. The hotel is clean. The pool and hot tub are perfect and a great place for happy hour. We actually left one hotel that was right on the beach and moved to the Hampton which is down the street and we were much happier. This hotel was cleaner, more personal and not as loud( due to the airport being so close) We recommend the Hampton highly. It is only a ten minute walk to the beach and we liked this beach better too.

We have stayed at Hampton Inns numerous times for business and vacation and where always satisfied. Our disappointment here was the exorbitant price of $292 plus 8,000 points for one night for a very average room. This room in any major city or airport in mainland US is less than half the price. The price included a $35 "resort" fee. The resort consisted of a 4-feet swimming pool, so shallow for adults that nobody could swim. Can't figure out how the "resort" label came about. The hotel is clean and adheres to Covid protocols, but the price makes it not worthy.

We made last minute plans to stay here 3 nights for a family member’s funeral. Normally, we stay at the Doubletree for family events, but they were not available.

Unfortunately the stay at Hampton Inn was not what we expect from Hilton properties. The room itself was clean, but the public spaces were not. People would eat breakfast or other meals outside by the pool area, but it would not be cleaned up until overnight. Towels were left all day and other trash. (Yes, shame on the people who don’t clean up after themselves, but it’s a fact of life, so the hotel needs to clean up now and again.) The airplane noise at the pool is very loud, but it is for a very short time for every plane. The problem was hearing it in the room until about 2am and then starting very early each morning.

The staff was nice when spoken to, but no one went out of their way to say hello or good morning when passing by.

I did enjoy the breakfast buffet most days. They had 3 hot dishes that changed every day (omelets were great), plus the other basic continental breakfast items and a waffle maker. I do wish they had more drink choices besides coffee and juices.

We were disappointed in housekeeping. We had stayed in our room the first morning until about 11am. When we left, my husband mentioned to housekeeping in the hall (he spoke Spanish) that we were leaving and please make up our room. The woman agreed. When we returned after the funeral, our room was never done and they were gone for the day.

We enjoyed the pool bar/grill at the end of our day each night. It was hard to get service, because it was busy every night. Unfortunately, it closed early (10pm-ish?) There were always plenty of people there when it closed, so seemed silly for them to close and walk away from that money. 11pm would be more reasonable to close in my opinion.

I would not stay here for vacation, but would if I needed the convenient location to the airport. Most people we spoke to were only there 1-3 nights, then moving on to something better (cruise, another area of the island, etc.)

We only stayed one night at the Hampton Inn on our way to Vieques. Location near the airport was very convenient and the staff was so accommodating and helpful. The pool area is terrific and we enjoyed the evening happy hour. The bar serves delicious drinks as well. Breakfast was typical Hampton Inn and gave us a good start to our first vacation day.

Hello, You are correct. This hotel is not directly on the beach. The beach is about two blocks across the street. For us it was no big deal to walk the two blocks to the beach but it could be an issue if you are looking for a hotel right on the beach. I hope this helps. Thanks.

What time is the happy hour? Is late checkout available?
Answer from nnjprman
Nutley, New Jersey242 contributions90 helpful votes
When I was there I missed the happy hour so I do not know what it is. Sorry. You could call them to get that info. I requested a late check out and they gave me an extra hour which was helpful to me since my flight was at 3:00. Regular check out is 11:00 am and they gave me until 12:00 at no extra charge. After that, I believe they charge. I don't know how much since I didn't need more than the extra hour. Also please note that late check out is possible based on availability. If they are completely booked, that may not be possible to do. Good luck!
