I book a room with a jacuzzi, the only difference between my room and a cheaper one was the jacuzzi. The first thing I did when I checked in was to try to have a bubble bath, but the Jacuzzi was not working, I called the front desk and they send someone to look at it and fix it, but the person couldn’t fix anything. They asked me to wait and they sent someone else 1 hour later, that person could not fix the jacuzzi either and said only next day they could try something else. I tried to have a shower, but it was veeery hot or veeeery cold, again I called the front desk and they sent someone, but he couldn’t fix it either. I had a very cold shower and went to bed. The next day I was informed that the jacuzzi and the shower were broken beyond repair anda thet they didn't have any other room. I took a shower in the pool area that day. The next day I checked out and asked for a discount, since I couldn’t enjoy much, but they said no. Since I had already paid before I got there, there was nothing I could do besides complain. I could have been an incredible experience since the hotel is gorgeous, breakfast is amazing, the pool is decent, but it wasn’t.…
Beautiful old house turned into a hotel with a very interesting history. Don't miss this little haven if your'e visiting Rio and need a break from the rat race for some serene peace and quiet! Also visit the little city of Itaipava with scenic beauty and great restaurants and cobble stone streets. We loved it!
We travelled here in February 2012 as two families and stayed for one night to visit Petropolis and experience a different side to Rio state. The poussada is in a beautiful location with gorgeous gardens and grounds and lots of facilities (outdoor and indoor pools, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, pool tables, relaxation areas) as well as serving drinks, light snacks and breakfast. They also have an excellent and good value wine selection, which is rare to find in Rio. Some of the Chilean and Argentinian reds are particularly good value. The service was attentive but discreet and we felt very at home there. We wished we'd stayed longer! The rooms are all different - we stayed in Provence and Belle Maison which were both lovely and easily accomodated the extra bed we required in each room. They were accessed in a small, private courtyard which was perfect for 2 families. The children were well accomodated and loved running around the garden and trying to spot parrots in the trees. Highly recommended for a relaxing stay close to Itaipava and Petropolis.…
Nice location with beautiful garden, with a very nice indoor pool with Furô. They offered a hidromassage, small gym, tennis, etc. The Hotel is an old private house adapted to be a small hotel. Need a lot of renovation. The service is very poor, needing a lot of trainning.
