For a fancy old hotel, I expected better. It feels like the communist 50's. The waiter was nice, but the food sucked. We both had a schnitzel, the meat was very tough, even the waiter tried to cut it and agreed that it was like leather. There are many much better restaurants in Plzen.

The building was very old and was unfortunately starting to show obvious signs of age. The hotel reception was enclosed as if it was a bank, and we were abruptly instructed to hand over our passports. Rooms were lovely, mine was huge, clean, however the balcony could do with a clean. Would return as I did enjoy Pilsen

This hotel needs an urgent renovation. It begs for it, it screams for it. I believe it used to be beautiful, but all it can offer now is secure parking in the backyard (6€/ day) and very friendly hotel staff. And a very good location in a city center with a nice park right in front of the hotel with...

It is not bad hotel. Clean rooms, very old and funny lift with manually closed door. Interior of hotel (stairs and corridor) came from USSR time but kept in good condition. So we found this hotel is fine for us. Only issue is that there is no curtains on the shower and bathtub, every time after shower you have to...

On the plus side its clean and the staff spoke English but rooms very basic but clean main advantage for me was secure parking, wifi and central location, no bar and no restaurant, overpriced for lack of facilities and poor condition of decor

I was unfortunate enough to visit Czechoslovakia (as it was then) at around the time of the Velvet Revolution. This hotel took me back to those times - cold, poor food, few facilities and lacking even basic amenities such as a lift to the top floor. Avoid.

Unlike some of the other reviewers we actually look for hotels that are "Faded Glory", "Past Glory" and "Old Eastern Bloc". That is part of their charm and the reason it only cost $65.00 a night. The outside and some of the inside is really beautiful especially the staircase. The rooms are basic, but clean and spacious with high ceilings....

I stayed here for one night and it was OK. The rooms are very basic and haven't been updated since the 60's at least! The bathrooms are also very basic, no shower curtain and a toilet that made an odd grinding sound when flushed. The location however is good, right near the main square and only 10 mins walk to...

The rooms on floor 3 need some renovation work. Some parts are broke and starts to smell, windows that wont open and some dirty spots on the floor. They advised this hotel for school groups because there are no youth hostel in Pilzen. We rented a couple of rooms because we are a big group. And in everyroom they have...

It is hard to believe places like that still exist, a room with furniture and everything else going back to the 60s on a floor with access only by lift, past more glorious days may be imagined if you look at the inner staircase, but otherwise it is difficult to find positive features except for the low price
