It's been roughly a year since I stayed at Hostel Downtown, and I rarely (if ever) write reviews, but I feel as though it's necessary to acknowledge how great of a stay I had. I'm from Canada, and when I got to the hostel, I realized my passport was stolen. The front desk worker at the time was Brent Davey,...

Great location, you could get to the main attractions on foot. We stayed in a private room, which was very comfortable. The shower was good and it was very spacious. Breakfast was good. There's a fridge where you can store your food and there are cooking facilities. The staff was friendly. Many restaurants nearby.

I stayed here for 3 nights while traveling abroad in Europe. The staff could not have been nicer! They offered event nights, took us out, and even had daily tours of the city of Prague. Our guide Gilberto was excellent and a real treat. He showed us all the hot spots in Prague, plus more. The hostel had a wonderful...

After so many great reviews i decided to stay there with friend. However there were many issues. 1. you hear everything through the walls. During the first night someone was vomiting close to our room so half of the night we could not sleep. Was really annoying and amazing that we need to hear it. :( 2.people do not care...

First of all: the staff is extremely kind. Anything you need, they can help and suggest. The hostel is awesome: excellent location, bars, stores, restaurants, tourist attractions and subway very close. Stayed in a 3-bed room, in the 6th floor. A lot of space, very clean and quiet. They have elevators, so you don't have to worry if traveling with...

I stayed at this hostel with my friend 6 days last year and one day on my trip to Prague now. The location of the hostel is great, walking distance to the city center, but the best part about it is people, the hostel team. They are genuinely warm and nice, they organise a lot of free activities and they...

I've been traveling for 2 months in Europe now and I can proudly say this is the best hostel I've ever stay, the location is perfect close to everything (restaurant, bar/pub, night club, city Square, Castle, Charles bridge etc. There is a mini market and a kebab restaurant right next door. Also there is a well equipped kitchen to cook...

This hostel is incredible! The location is perfect for someone who likes to walk everywhere like me. The staff are some of the most amazing people I have met on my trip around Europe! I arrived really exhausted from my travels and was immediately offered water or tea! When I mentioned that I would rather have a beer, Brent went...

Great hostel! IT HAS A PIANO, and a guitar so... Huge common so people spread out a bit and it gets harder to interact but group activities every day make up for it. I met wonderful people there. All the staff was Excellent but Brent was my favorite.

The location is perfect and the staff is incredible. They offer activities every night, even free dinner two times a week. Special thanks to Brent: he made us his Czech version of poutine and it was per-fect!

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
