Location of the hotel is brilliant but unfortunately beds were a let down. Sleep was very uncomfortable as beds were very hard, old fashioned and short. Room was spacious with extra large windows and nice view. Breakfast average. Staff very friendly and polite.

The location of the hotel is excellent, and price-wise it's great too. Everything is in walking distance. Breakfast is a bit better than average i think, with a wide variety of options for warm and cold food. Staff is very friendly and helpful. But, and this is a huge thing - there is absolutely no sound proofing inside the hotel....

The room we had was pretty basic, but so cheap! There was a bed, TV, bedside tables, lamps, a table, chair, wardrobe, a safe (which we couldn't work out how to use), toilet, shower, towels and soap etc The room was surprisingly big and had a big (shared) balcony out of the window (not sure if you're meant to use...

This hotel also has a hostel next door. When we checked in a guy on reception called Sergei took us up into the hotel then out through a fire escape and into another building which at the time we didn't realise was the hostel. There were room doors sitting open with loads of people in each room, half naked men...

The negative thing for visitors to keep in mind applies to all hotels in Prague's old town. Large vehicles cannot access the hotels. Hence, taxis or walk. Nearest coach drop off point is 700m away. Other than that, this hotel is ideal for anyone who wants to stay in a hotel that is no more than 20mins walk from all...

We were originally booked into a different hotel but they could only provide double rooms, which wasn't great for a stag do!! The hotel transferred us to the Rubicon and we were pleasantly surprised by being offered apartment suites which are huge and offer a lot of room. Great location and price with friendly and helpful staff.

I stayed 5 days here, and I had an unforgettable experience (in a negative sense): outside my room there was scaffolding, and every morning at 7.00am i was woken up by loud banging noises, as workers were fixing the external walls and windows. I complained about this at the reception, but the staff said they couldn't help as the workers...

The Hotel Rubicon is very well located. A short walk from the Old Town Square, and well located to the Náměstí Republiky metro station, making arrival from the Airport a breeze. We were booked to stay for 2 nights (via Expedia) for a birthday of one of our party (2 couples) and arrived at around 11:30am. The guy on reception...

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
