We had a 4th floor room/apartment as there is a small kitchenette. Nicely decorated - throughout the building. Staff was wonderfully and genuinely friendly. Nice breakfast (for 6 Euro) at cute cafe next door. You can get everywhere in Prague from this spot. The only slight downside was they had one of those smelly air fresheners that I had to...

Highly recommended. Residence Malostranska is one of the best place we have stay in Europe. Our room was President room with 3 bedrooms. The place is very clean with great traditional decoration. It made us feel like living in the Palace. The location is close to Charles Bridge and Prague Castle. Marketa, Residence Manager, was awesome. She showed us around...

Having had our fourth trip to Prague and we always return to these apartments. We adore the staff so much and have invited them to visit us if they are in the UK. No problems and feel assured of the staff support and a great experience everytime. Having been very unwell before travelling, I was so reassured by my lovely...

Gorgeous rooms, newly redone with ultra modern luxury bathroom fixtures. Right on the town square across from the Malostranska tram stop and St Joseph the Lesser (largest Baroque cathedral in central Europe). Trams go until about 11 or midnight, so if that noise bothers you, ask for the apartment with the room on the courtyard. 3 minute walk to the...

What an absolutely fantastic stay at the Malostranska Residence. Wasn't sure what to expect as had never visited the city before and before even arriving the hotel had arranged airport service (very reasonable) for us and from the moment we stepped into the gorgeous hallway with it's beautiful details, frescos, candles, ornate glass elevator we were thrilled. Marketa is such...

We and 2 other couples booked the Presidential Suite at the Malostranska Residence to celebrate the New Year in Prague. In the lead up to our trip I contacted the Malostranska Residence to arrange airport transfers and a restaurant for New Year eve dinner. Marketa was quick to respond and arranged everything for us in advance of our arrival. On...

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighbourhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighbourhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighbourhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
