I completely agree with the previous reviewer. First the good; The hotel itself was quirky and unusual. The rooms although small were clean, warm and well equipped. (Because of the shape of the building the rooms get slightly bigger as you move away from reception)....More
First the good - this is a hotel situated ideally for the city centre of Prague. Our room was reasonable, very clean and well equipped. Prices were reasonable and breakfast was good.

We,ve stayed at The Kampa twice now. The first time, they put us in a coverted broom cupboard on the top floor, next to the noisy lift motor. After the first night, we complained and they moved us to a better room.

We stayed at the BW Kampa in August 2007. The hotel is located ideally on/near the Kampa island in Prague's Little Quarter area. It's on a picturesque cobblestone side street, but very close to the main trolley stops. The hotel is decorated in a medieval...More
I stayed at the best western kampa for 1 week in Sept 2006. The location was perfect - close to everything but still in a quiet area. My room was small, but not unusually so for Europe. It did smell a bit musty and I...More

Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch
shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighbourhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighbourhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
