Nice old fashioned styled hotel, very near to the Charles Bridge and the old city. The staff are excellent and very helpful. Gave directions to all the landmarks. The hotel offered a very good breakfast and had a good choice. Clean and quaint in its style, the ceilings in the rooms add a good touch. The reception staff are the...

Well located very close to Charles Bridge in Mala Strana, this boutique hotel claims 4 stars. The staff were welcoming, and spoke good english. The downstairs has a small lounge, but no bar or other facilities, the lift is rickety, the rooms a good size but basically appointed. The painted ceilings are a nice touch, but they get boring after...

Solid, old furniture, massive exposed beams hand-painted with flowers, a roomy ensuite, double doors leading to the bedroom with a small private entry area. What a treat! Add a great breakfast, courteous staff and an ideal location, just 100m or so from Prague's famous bridge in an area dotted with eateries, overlooked by the castle on the hill, and you...

I really wish I could review this hotel, but that would require staying there, which was my intention. You see, when we were arrived, we were told that there was a "problem with the pipes" on our floor and that we'd be shuttled across town to another hotel owned by the same manager. We asked them to explain the nature...

Small friendly hotel conveniently located between Old Town and Castle, near Charles Bridge. Most main sites are within walking distance. Reception staff are extremely helpful. Room and bathroom clean and well furnished. Simple but plentiful buffet breakfast which had slight variation each day. Hot items as well as the cold cheese, meat and pastries as well as cereals and fresh...

We were here for three nights, loved the layout of the spacious room and shower room although the lights above the mirror didn't work - a minor irritation. Felt the room could benefit from having a mirror in it. We were on the first floor and found it noisy on one of the nights (Friday). Mini bar well stocked although...

I spent 3 nights here in Feb '13. It's convinently located near many of the tourist attractions in Prague. I got the room for just over $50 CAD/night. It was really clean, and well kept. The bed was average. I didn't fancy the bathroom too much. I'm not a fan of the sit in the tub and hold the handle...

The hotel has a good location as the Charles bridge is just around the corner. We found the hotel to be quite basic. Our room was small with not much room between the bed and the wall. The bathroom did not have a shower curtain over the bath and no upper fitting for the shower head. This made it difficult...

The hotel is on a narrow side street a stones throw from Charles bridge in the Lesser Quarter (castle side). The hotel was comfortable and the staff friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. The breakfast was better than I was expecting, though the hot food didn't tend to be very hot if you ate 9.30 ish. There is no bar as...

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighbourhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighbourhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighbourhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
