This hotel does not deserve the rating of 3 stars by any standard! Although inside it was clean enough to stay in, it wreaked of cigarette smoke (Which is to be expected in most places in Prague) and looked like I had stepped back in time. The breakfast was also as poor as you would find anywhere with stale bread...

Ok, so this hotel is not the Ritz - but for £88 for 3 people for 2 nights, what do you really expect ??? Room 306/307 meant we had a bedroom and living area which was useful travelling with a 2yr old. Beds are a total nightmare, like lying on a plank of wood and they creaked as much as...

I couldn't agree more with the review of 23 Sep 2007 by boggy44. This is the worst accommodation of any sort I have experienced- and that includes school camps in the scrub.I have never been to prison but if it is anything like this I can understand why prison has such a bad name. Pillow the size of a table...

Similar to at least one other reviewer of this hotel, I only read peoples' reviews after I had booked the hotel and was horrified by what was being said. I had booked the Koruna through OctupusTravel, who I have used for all my previous mini-breaks away and based it on the price, location and overview of images provided. Having never...

Ugly and smelly! I have visited Prague many times, but I have never stayed in such a terrible hotel. It is not even cheap. There are lots of nicer and cleaner places to stay. Beds are anything but comfortable, seems like they have forgotten the mattresses, only the springs are there...

My husband and I have just returned from a 4 day break to Prague, we booked the hotel and flights on the web - and got a very cheap deal on the hotel and flights. We arrived at the hotel and to be honest the rooms were as described - basic but clean. Towels are changed daily and the beds...

Great little Hotel and right near the centre. Yes it's basic but it's clean and at the end of the day it's just somewhere to lay your head down for a couple of hours. The staff where really friendly and for a group of lads it was perfect. It's not suitable for couples or those that want more from a...

I read the reviews for this hotel on tripadvisor (after booking!) and was really worried. What a relief! Yes, the hotel was very basic- plain bare furnishing in the bedroom and dodgy coloured bathroom tiles. The shower was a bit hit and miss temperature wise and didn't have much "oomph". I would compare the room to a simple Greek self-catering apartment....

Arriving in Prague after a 25 hour journey due to weather conditions 29/12/05. Hotel we had booked and paid for turned us away and sent to Koruna Hotel. I actually sat down and cried when I saw the room. The curtains see through, dingy brown tiles in the toilet, and at five in the morning discovering torn sheets on both beds....

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred metres long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theatres. National Theatre near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
