Based on a friend's recommendation, we stayed at Hotel u Krize last summer for the couple days that we were in Prague and really loved the experience. We are going back to Prague this summer for a friend's wedding and have already booked nights at the hotel again. The hotel is at a really convenient location, our room was newly...

Pizza was very good. Similar items were more expensive in other restaurants. Veg options possible. Service excellent they were quite helpful. Liked the apple juice with fresh fruits. Small place . Good value for money. Can visit after a ride on funicular train. The restaurant up there was expensive.

Hotel U Krize is situated well in the lesser town. Its still near to all local amenities but about a 15 minute walk to the Charles Bridge which leads to the Old town. The other way its about 20 minutes walk to Wenceslas Square. Trams are cheap and plentiful from the hotel. Rooms are comfortable and staff helpful. Good breakfast...

Room was very spacious, clean and nicely furnished. Tariff included breakfast making it very economical. The hotel is in a old building with wooden stairs so it can be quite noisy when other guests return to their rooms especially if they talk in the hallway. Our room faced the road so you could hear the trams but this noise is...

Just had a fantastic meal in the small restaurant to the side of the hotel. Can't recommend it highly enough - amazing food, friendly, helpful, attentive staff and great value. We are only in Prague for four nights and will be eating here for two of them!

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighbourhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighbourhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighbourhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
