Hotel Meran is localed right in front of the Wencelas Square, which is a great thing to start with. The hotel is nice... I do know it is a very old building so I do give them the benefit of the doubt to a certain extend. Having said that, I think the bathroom needs an update. The room I thought...

We traveled to Prague with two other couples, and we chose the Hotel Meran for its great location. We were not disappointed. The hotel has quite a bit of history to it, having been owned by one family before WW11, losing it to the Third Reich, and then repurchasing it after the fall of the Communist regime. This obviously is...

Stayed there 4 nights in September 2013. Room and bathroom was large and clean. Had a room facing Wenceslas Square..what a view! After closing the window at night the room was quiet and a fan circulated the air. Has a small elevator! Staff was very helpful with restaurant suggestions and location of a grocery. Location was fantastic! We took a...

This hotel was more like a two star rather than a three star. The staff were verging on rude and not welcoming of myself and my daughter, the twin room we were given was very small and not like we had seen on the website. The food was plentiful at breakfast but the hotel days it serves drinks to its...

We had a very nice stay in this hotel. The staff was extremely nice and willing to help. For example, they brought us an english newspaper during the breakfast and packed a lunch box when realized that we have an early morning flight back home, even though we did not ask them to do it! Rooms are spotless and spacious...

Myself, husband and adult daughter stayed here for 3 nights. The room was great overlooking Wenceslas Square with a small balcony, great for taking photos. The room was large including a table and chairs and mini fridge. The breakfast was ok but monotonous. We would book this hotel again for it's great location.

Ideally located right on Wenceslas Square. Claims to be 3-star but I'd say more a 2-star hotel. Old fashioned and nothing special IMO. Clean (of course) but not smart: could do with renovating. Better value hotels nearby.

Stayed here for 3 nights in a triple room. Lovely art nouveau features, tall ceilings, chandelier.. could be truly amazing if they did it up a bit. Very generous, simple room with 3 beds and nice sofa/seating area. Lots of storage. Large bathroom, modern. Clean throughout. Right on Wenceslas Sq next to Hotel Europa. Our room overlooked the square on...

Very cozy hotel in the old city center. Delicious breakfasts. Responsive and attentive staff. Normal price. Nearby there is a public parking for 15 euros per night. A bit noisy at night if the windows face the square. The hotel has a lift.

Very good location and comfortable quiet rooms (ask for the rooms at the back of the building!). The breakfast was somewhat basic - better coffee in the morning and fresher fruits could have been a bonus!

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred metres long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theatres. National Theatre near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
