Ours was a 4 day break in December 2016. What a great location and position! Hotel organised taxi transfer from airport as we were on a late flight. Lovely greeting on our arrival and a relaxed informative check in. Our room was clean/tidy and modern...it had been refurbished we were told. We had breakfast everyday included in the price. Lots...

Archibald at the Charles Bridge was a perfect hotel for our two-night whirlwind tour of Prague. Located on the castle side of the Vltava River, it places one in walking distance (ok, a healthy walking distance in some cases) of Prague's main attractions like Prague Castle, the old town, the Jewish quarter, St. Vitus' Cathedral, the "John Lennon wall", public...

When I was trying to decide where we should stay in Prague, our fellow TripAdvisor pals were all saying THEIR hotel was in the best location, no matter where it was. Well, I found out why… there are so many great locations in Prague and yes, the Archibald hotel is one of them! I can’t say you will be blown...

The Archibald is a comfortable, clean and cosy hotel. It is right in the heart of the city yet completely quiet; perfectly positioned in a pretty square right by the Charles Bridge. Our room was well furnished and had a lovely river view. The beds were comfortable (though I was sleeping on a sofa bed which was a little hard...

We stayed here the night before our flight out of Prague. Our son and small grandson also came to stay and see us off the next day. We did the same last year after the holidays. Again our stay was delightful! At check-in our little grandson was even given a set of new coloured pencils and book! A nice holiday...

This was our first visit to Prague and won't be our last. The hotel is in a great location within walking distance of everything! The Charles bridge is beautiful and peaceful in the morning and later in the evening- avoid middle of the day as it's packed. We found the hotel beautifully presented and our room was very comfortable. Breakfast...

The location is what really sets this hotel apart. It's about 20 yards from the Charles Bridge on the castle side of the river, away from most of the touristy stuff. It's in a beautiful, quiet square (Kampa Square) and many of the rooms have views of the river and bridge. Our garden room was located in kind of an...

We booked our hotel months ahead and after a long and tiring journey to the hotel, discovered that there was some trouble with the room and they had to redirect us to a hotel across the street as they were fully booked. Definitely not something the hotel could expect but it was disappointing and frustrating not knowing what kind of...

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighbourhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighbourhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighbourhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
