Stayed here a few weeks ago and can honestly say it's the best hotel I've ever stayed in. The decor is wonderfully opulent throughout the hotel. The attention to detail is second to none! Every single one of the staff were highly attentive and were able to attend to every request. The hotel served complementary wine and cheese every evening...

Although described as a gothic boutique hotel, I found it more on the regal side. From top to bottom this hotel oozes splendour and really transfers you back in time with a feel of royalty. From the antique furnishings that decorate the halls to the lavish room decor, you can't help but feel almost spoiled by the flawless attention to...

Wonderful stay in a charming hotel. Dining room for fantastic breakfast is like a jewel box. Room was very clean and it felt like very special and so unique. We were very glad we didn't stay in a boring cookie cutter luxury chain hotel. Walking distance to everything and yet so quiet as it's right by the American embassy. Loved...

A few months ago I started planning my trip to Prague to celebrate my partner's 30th birthday. From the moment I started emailing the hotel to finalise arrangements I knew it was going to be a wonderful trip. Not only were the replies quick and polite, they truly tried their best to make it a special trip. They offered us the...

We stayed at the Alchemist at the beginning of February, it's a great location as close to the Charles Bridge, and the restaurants and bars are all within walking distance. The hotel staff were really helpful and friendly and made us feel very welcome. Prague is a beautiful city and great for a long weekend break.

Located in a very quiet side street only a couple of minutes walk away from the bustling Charles Bridge, the small hotel provides rooms and a restaurant with a classical Czech old fashioned cozy atmosphere. We loved it for being different than all the designer hotels available. The pickup service from and to the airport was great and very convenient....

Great location if you don't mind a walk into main tourist area. We picked it for that purpose. Lovely building. Apartment was slightly smaller than expected but was sufficient and had everything we needed. Compact and bijou. Nice helpful staff.

This small, historical and beautiful hotel was a great experience. Staff was very friendly and the location in Mala Strana was peaceful - but still near Charles's Bridge and old town (by walking distance). We don't usually eat at the hotel restaurant, but the Italian San Carlo restaurant here was nice and worth a visit. Our rooms were adorable, the...

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighbourhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighbourhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighbourhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
