The apartments are well located - 500 mts from the city centre with the decent facility...Good & value for money for a short stay especially for the families with children...The apartment in which we stayed has an excellent terrace which added further pleasure to our stay with plenty of sunshine... Though the apartments are little worn out & need refurbishment...

This is a very decent place in the centre of Prague.. It has some rooms with cooking facilities also and this helps if some folks coming with family.. Walking distance from the old town sqr and good transport connections.. Only thing to note is that its in the terrace and it can get quite hot during the afternoons in summer.....

Considering the price, Pension is a good place close to the center. Good points: - 10 minutes walking to the Old town - close to metro and tram stops - price reasonably low - large rooms with kitchen - polite people Bad points: - building not attractive - lack of common rooms (the hotel is a "corridor", from which you...

A very good place to stay in Prague. Near the best places to visit. Have kitchen, and a big bedroom. Very confortable, with a view to the Prague Castle.

Generally I recommend Pension Unie. Good points: 1. Ten minutes to the Old Town on foot. 2. Well equipped kitchen in the apartment. 3. Polite staff. 4. Parking place. 5. Easy to find when arriving by car. Bad points: 1. Converted attic (very hot during sunny days). 2. Near to busy street This is the view from the window of...

Very nice budget hotel with parking space in the backyard located near the city center, short walks to staro mesto, underground and street car lines nearby. Not that easy to find since it is located on the 6th floor of a joint use building but friendly staff and good breakfast. Café Imperial nearby is worth a visit, especially because of...

We stayed at the Unie Pension for 4 nights in June. It was definitely less than expected and I would hesitate to recommend it to anyone. To start with, it is in a commercial building which is locked over the weekend and it is hard to find. When we arrived on Saturday afternoon, the building looked deserted and we were...

Stayed here for 4 nights in March. Location is pretty good, not in the heart of the tourist area, but only about 10-15 minute walk to Old Town and Wenceslas Square. It is located in an office building and after office hours it could be a little tedious to lock/unlock the numerous doors that you encounter to get from the...

I stayed at the Pension Unie in March 2005 for four nights. The pension is located on the 6th floor of an office building, so if you are looking for old word charm, you won't find it here. You will find, however, very friendly service at a good value within walking distance to Old Town. The pension was undergoing some...

Pension Unie is a small hotel in a centrally located part of Prague. Basically all the major sites are within 10-15 minutes walk. This place does not carry all the bells and whistles of a 5 star hotel but it definitely gave us a personalized service. Because the place is so small, the staff provided us with a very warm...

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred metres long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theatres. National Theatre near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
