This is one place that should be avoided! This is not a hostel but a shared apartment! Dirty and inhabited by impolite rude people. Shoutings, yelling and loud music all night long. Washing machine working at 2.30 am. The common areas are always unavailable (check the pictures). More important is the reception is ALWAYS CLOSED! The, so called, emergency number...

Yes, Atlas Hostel is situated in the middle of Prague's red light district! I only realised this the day before arriving and admittedly it did seem to stir up a concoction of abstract threats and concerns about the dangers of staying in such a seedy part of town. ‘Maybe the hostel is a brothel?’ was the thought that dominated my...

Nice hostel situated in the red district (not the best and nicest place during the night). The room was big, like a little apartment. Very helpful staff that could answer our questions. Not a party hostel, but a nice and quite place to rest, near Wenceslav square. Not the best hostel I've been to, but worth a try!

I was there 2 times. It's quite tidy. I like it's in the center of the city and everything is close to it. The best place was in the attic- beautiful view but many many stairs to subdue;) i recommend.

We stayed for 2 nights, and got a room with our own bathroom in an apartment, with two more rooms and a kitchen. It was very clean and neat, with lovely black and white pictures of Prague. The location is great,in the center, and you don't need transportation if you are going sight seeing. The kitchen even has an iron, and everything else tou need...

We stayed here for five nights. First we had only booked three nights, but we added two nights after the first night, and we didn't even have to change room. We had the 4 person private ensuite, which had a shared room with beds upon entrance, a kitchen with microwave, fridge, a table and an extra bed, and a bathroom....

This hostel was alright. I thought it was a pretty good price for the location, just a few blocks off of Wenceslas Square. We stayed on the top floor, it was a long hike up and at night many of the stairway lights were burnt out. The room itself was okay, the "double bed" was just two twin sized beds...

We booked and paid for a private room for two nights, and was "upgraded" to our own apartment-type accommodation about 5 minutes walking from the main hostel. I appreciated the upgrade, yes, but the apartment was old and very dingy, with very uncomfortable beds. It was very dark, with no WiFi or internet access. The kitchen area was filthy with...

Yes, we were in the red light district with two cabarets and one club savna, there are black people on the corners, we were in the room for 13 people, but....it's fine. It's save (you must lock), clean, water is always warm, you can cook, very spacious and near are the markets that are very cheap. The only disadvantage is...

We booked and paid for a private ensuite room and were given a room that was not ensuite. We had to cross a common kitchen area to use the private toilet and shower. it was Easter weekend and everywhere was booked solid and we had no option but to accept the situation. I would not recommend this hostel. The location...

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred metres long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theatres. National Theatre near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
