We weren't really sure about booking this hotel after reading the reviews about how it was on the "quieter" side of town and up a steep hill to get to. How pleased we were when we arrived and found it to be perfect! Definitely the better side of town and only a 10 minute walk to the centre. (The hill...

Hotel is situated in the beautiful area, where many Embassies are, close to all sightseeing, being up the hill towards the castle but only a short walk to Charles Bridge. Room and bathroom are really nice, very clean and beautifully decorated. The bed was huge with very comfy pillows, shower is excellent. The breakfast was delicious - so much choice,...

Loved everything about this hotel. It is in a quiet location so you can easily sleep without traffic noise (except for the distant bells of the clock towers chiming the hours). The rooms are luxurious and well appointed with beautifully comfortable beds and pillows. There are bath robes and slippers plus other amenities in the bathroom. The breakfast is absolutely...

My husband and I travel extensively for business and pleasure; this is one of our best hotel experiences ever. The Appia is in a great location, easy walking distance to the Hrad, Mala Strana attractions, and Old Town. The room was spacious and completely comfortable. Very good bed. Excellent bathroom with a large vanity counter (almost unheard of in European...

We had the pleasure of staying in a spacious and tastefully decorated suite with our child, who was given a travel cot with proper bedding. The internet worked well, and the hotel breakfast room was cozy. The location is very good, with a short and pleasant walk both to the castle and the centre of Prague.

We had a very pleasant stay. This hotel is very conveniently located on just a few hundred meters from the castle. Yet the area is very quiet. Spacious rooms and well equipped. Excellent breakfast buffet. Just some disturbance during the night due to noise from running water. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighbourhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighbourhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighbourhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
