My wife and I stayed at Hotel Savic for three nights in early February 2012, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This is an older hotel in a very old town: do not expect sanitized modernity and you will not be disappointed. Things were not perfect - a scuffed wall here, a crack there - but we hail from Boston where...

I saw this hotel recommended in the Telegraph travel section so booked after seeing this and checking the Trip Advisor reviews. I'd never seen as much overwhelmingly positive commentary for a hotel so my expectations were high - they were well met. The hotel is ideally located just a 2 minute walk from the old town square yet is a...

My wife and I had never been to Prague before, we checked in late on a Friday night and we were made to feel so welcome by Jana, the moment we entered the Hotel. She was so helpful with advice on what to see and where to go, and the best way to get around, we immediately felt that this...

My wife booked us in to the Savic Hotel in Prague for our 18th Anniversary through Travel Republic at somewhat of a bargain. She checked Trip Advisor first and found all the good reports on the Savic Hotel. All the good reports were well founded as this hotel was just lovely. We arrived late on a Friday night and were...

We were greated by Vladimir, which was an experience unto itself! Such enthusiasm and so welcoming. Vladimir couldnt do enough to make our trip perfect! He offered us the choice of three rooms, taking us all around the wonderful querky converted monastery situated in the heart of the Old Town. The room we chose was perfect, in the loft with...

Just returned from a long weekend in Prague and staying at this hotel made it all the more pleasurable. Location was perfect, 3 mins from Old Town square (Astronomical Clock) and no more than 5 mins from Charles bridge. Staff were always friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived until we left. Rooms were very nice, clean and comfortable...

The hotel is a stone throw from the main square, lots of shops and near to Charles Bridge as well. The welcome by the hotel reception was excellent, offered a choice of beer or wine while she arranged for the room check in. Gave a very thorough brief on hotel facilities, places to visit etc. Room is excellent, quirky with...

Ethereal is the fact it used to be a monastery, so there are views onto a courtyard and it's a pleasure to walk the staircases which circle it. Who needs the elevator with such beauty? Stylish is the elegant furniture in the rooms, lobbies and all hallways. Many people clearly enjoyed hanging out in the common areas for this. The...

A warm and friendly welcome greeted our small group on arrival at Hotel Savic on the 5th -8th February. Breakfast was excellent with a wide choice of buffet food both hot and cold, a variety of fresh fruit, plus a chef who happily made fresh omlettes, scrambled eggs, pancakes etc. We also enjoyed a quality evening meal and lunch at...

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
