After spending three nights at the Hotel Dar I can say that it is a study in contradictions and depending on what is important to you, you may like or hate this place. On the plus-side the location is great - within 90 seconds of the old town central plaza and all the wonderful restaurants, shops, tours, etc. that it... More

Location was fantastic! The restaurant next door was good with cheaper food and booze than at the old town square. Rooms were super tiny. Beds were hard. I asked for additional pillows but he didn't understand us. Small lobbey where they store your bags if you have a later flight. Reception lady was very nice and informative and booked tours... More

Simple rooms. Great location right in in the midst of it. It's good value for money and the staff are friendly and helpful. Not fancy, but well done for what it is, recommend a stay when in beautiful Prague.

Small hotel in a very small back steet just next to the historical sqare in Old Town of Prague. I had a room in the back and even if it was at the first floor, I did not hear any noises. Nothing fancy, but for this price I think it is a god choise. Clean and fresh. There are lots... More

The location is perfect. Breakfast is very good. The stuff was friendly and help us every time we need. 20 meters from the clock and steps from the all attractions in prague. I dont have any bad word on this hotel.

Literally one minute's walk to Old Town Square, the location is superb. That combined with its clean presentation, acceptably sized rooms, good breakfast & efficient service should result in at least a very good rating, but its noisy location at night makes this hotel unacceptable, at least with respect to its front rooms facing the street where revellers make a... Dar Hotel Prague is a very short distance from the square clock, Staromestske Namesti. The hotel is clean, comfortable rooms and a shower. Breakfast plentiful and beautiful dining room in the basement. I must say the receptionist, Mila really helped us orientation in the city and on the map where to go. Thank you Sara, Israel.

Let me first start by saying that I have traveled my entire life and stayed in an out of hostels as well as luxury hotels. This experience left me with the worst taste in my mouth of anyplace I've ever stayed (including camp grounds!). Not only were the rooms in this "hotel" more on par with a 2 star hostel... More

My overall experience at this hotel was exceptionally negative. As a regular traveller, it was a very disappointing experience. I booked a room via booking.com. The hotel advertises rooms with air conditioning. Prague can be very hot in the summer. When I arrived at the hotel, I was assigned a room with no air conditioning, just a fan. When I... More

Comfortable room, perfect location only a couple of minutes from the main square and the astronomical clock. Breakfast was included and was delicious. There is a small restaurant attached where we ate one night and the food was lovely. We were able to purchase drinks from the bar and take up the up to the rooftop patio which was lovely.... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
