The location of this hotel is perfect, right in the city center. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good. If you close the window in the room, you hear almost no noise from the bar downstairs. The bathroom could use a good, thorough cleaning - there was some mold in the shower. Otherwise, the cleanliness of... More

Stayed there for two nights and because there was a two night gap in between the two nights we stayed, had the pleasure of staying in two different room. First, the location is ideal. Both of our rooms faced the river and we were steps away from numerous restaurants and bars. Both rooms were large and spacious with windows that... More

We stayed one night in Macek rooms, they have excellent crew. They were so helpful and friendly. the service is excellent. The breakfast is so generous. You just sit outside by the river and have your breakfast and your coffee. the location is priceless day and night. It is just in the center by the river. Easy access. Internet is... More

We were able to walk from the train station/bus depot to Hotel Macek, though it might not be recommended for people with large suitcases. To check in, you just go directly in the front door of the restaurant and go to the bar. When you go in, you will notice all of the cat-related paintings and sculptures. Sad to say... More

If you are not a fan of "classic" and unpersonal city hotels, this place is perfect for you. Macek Rooms is less a hotel than a coffee house ("Kavarna") with a couple of rooms for rent upstairs. It is situated in the center of Ljubljana directly at Ljubljanica Kanal and in short walking distance of everything you need to see... More

The wonderful location of Macek Rooms and the light big rooms are the pro's of this hotel. The extremely small shower and the noise from the bar downstairs are the con's. Very friendly and helpfull staff. Breakfast in the bar downstairs is okay.

Macek Rooms had everything I look for in a hotel...Low cost/Value for money, clean room, comfy bed, nice bathroom, fast and free wifi, friendly staff, supply towels, free breakfast and centrally located. Plus its above a bar. This made it a little noisey but they close relatively early and it was not a problem for my partner and I. Highly... More

Good location close to many shops, restaurants, the river, the castle. The staff are friendly and remembered our morning coffee preference after the first breakfast. Breakfast is simple (a selection of bread/croissants with jams/nutella/meat/cheese options, yogurt, muesli) and sufficient for what I normally take. The room was spacious, the bathroom as well. Just a note that our bathroom was more... More

We arrived as part of a car rally and were not disappointed with our rooms. Modern clean and trendy decor with nice bathrooms. The floor is heated which made it a little too warm on the hot day we were there but will be great in the winter. There is a nice cafe linked to to the hotel and the... More

  • view out to the canal
  • room with some farmers market fruit
  • closet
  • room with a few of our things scattered
