We (a group of five girls in our 30s) enjoyed our stay at Hostel Celica very much. The hostel has a good location and a friendly staff. Our room - which fitted all five of us - was quite crammed. If we would come back, we would probably book two smaller rooms. The cells and rooms for 2 or 3...

First, it seems others had issues with staff being unhelpful. When I was there they were nothing but friendly and accommodating. Second, it's an old prison. It's not meant to be cozy. But the rooms are interesting and my bed was perfectly comfortable. All was very clean.

The place has been designed and refurbished incredibly well. Really peculiar and fresh look. As a hostel it operates with a few maneurisms of a hotel.. which is sometimes good e.g. 24 hour Reception, extra security doors to floors. Free wifi is not available upstairs, for somewhere that seems to be quite business minded surely they know to keep on...

The hostel was very cool in terms of art work and was probably a great place to meet people if you were travelling by yourself, however the bedroom was APPALLING - worst room I have ever stayed in. There weren't even any curtains/blinds on the windows. Ridiculous ladder to climb up into the beds. Rooms were concrete claustrophobic cells and...

Funny freakish hostel, a former prison, thus the rooms risult a little asphyxiating although neat. Promiscuity helps you making friends. Staff is helpful. Very crowded. Close to the train station. Average breakfast

When we arrived at Hostel Celica, we found that we were paying more than we had expected for the night and also we had to give a 10euro deposit which we had not been told about. This was highly inconvenient as we had intended to use that cash for food. The woman at the desk was unhelpful and responded with...

Unfortunately I thought the Celica hostel would be much better but in the end I was dissapointed with how small the room was. I know that it was a former prison but that does not really justify the small and short beds they have and the tiny bathroom :( also I was "upgraded" to a smaller dorm but I ended...

Hostel Celica is an ex-prison renovated youth hostel. Once a prison, now a hostel made out of 20 prison cells. More than hundred years this building served as a military prison. Now it is a trendy youth hostel, one of the most special hostels in the world. Modern, trendy, full of artists and young travellers, musicians, nice people. Great staff,...

The hostel is only a 5 minute walk away from the train station. We asked the info lady for directions, and her reply was "you'll see really rough buildings with loads of graffiti, then the hostel is right there". She wasn't wrong, the buildings surrounding it seriously looked like crack dens, and the people hanging out there look beyond dodgy....

This hostel is very cramped, I was in a room of 7. With 4 people in my side of the room, with barely enough space to move or put my stuff away. There is no where to put your luggage apart from the aisles. Also, this hostel in an area that is surrounded by junkies, so I did not feel...
