The Danube Guesthouse is around 20-30 minutes from Budapest airport. A transfer by taxi cost around 7000 HUF (approximately £20). The Danube Guesthouse is set in a classicly dated building with ornate entrance and quaint stairwell and lift inside. Okay it needs a lick of paint but we just felt that building oozed charm and as Zoltan (our excelent host)...

Impeccably clean and well-located guesthouse, The entry feels like walking into the early 19th century (except for the lift). The bedrooms are very modern with great mattresses. Zolton and Bob are very helpful. Stunning historic synagogue to explore in the same block,

From the moment we arrived at the Danube we felt comfortable and welcome. Bob our host, was engaging and friendly. The guest house is clean and the bed very comfortable, with lovely pillows. Bob provided us with all the information we needed to find our way around the city, and advised us about local restaurants and bars. A great place...

My wife and I stayed at the Danube Guesthouse (DG), 9/1/13 to 9/4/13, to begin a 3 week tour of Central Europe. This is an outstanding property to stay at and is as advertised on Trip Advisor by many others. This bed and breakfast is in the Jewish quarter about a 10 minute walk from the Deak Ferenc ter Metro...

Very clean, daily maid service, with comfortable room although a little small. Location is fabulous in Pest. Very secure and temperature controlled. Breakfast was excellent......it is off site in a nearby restaurant. Our host, Zoltán was waiting for us at the front door to welcome us to his B&B, you realize that your stay will be a good experience. He explains where to eat and where not to eat. He steers you away from the pricey tourist traps and to restaurants that are welled priced and the food delicious. The rooms are...

One of the best guest homes ever! From the moment we walked into the Danube Guest House and were welcomed by Zoltan and Bob we felt right at home. We were impressed by their support given to us as first time tourists to Budapest and their attention to details about the local scene such as info about a "ruin" bar...

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
