My girlfriend and I stayed in this hostel in April. We fell in love when we arrived at the hostel. Its art nouveau decoration impressed us with its shape, colours and furtinure style. The staff was very helpful and friendly and gave us valuable information about the city and surroundings. Also they made us feel very welcome. It is worth...

The hostel was a hidden little treasure and a real little gem. We really felt as if we were in wonderland! Our apartment was a great size and we were utterly smitten with our room! However one of the staff members really made us feel uncomfortable during our stay. First off I wanted to pay for our room as soon...

My sister and I stayed in one of Lavender Circus' private apartments in District 6. Despite lugging our stuff up 3 flights of stairs, the apartment was cozy, cute and had everything we needed. (Keep in mind Budapest doesn't appear to have any elevators anywhere so no matter where you stay you'll need to deal with stairs). The kitchen was...

We had one of the apartments, which was quite adequate for our needs. The bed was comfortable. The room was warm during some very cold nights. It has a rather dingy appearance, although there can be no compliant about cleanliness. The main advantage of this place is the price and the very central location.

We were in Budapest for NYE and we stayed at apartment house that is separated from the hostel. The location is great, we walked to everything. Also, it is very quiet part of the city, even though the streets nearby are very loud and alive. The owner, Adam, was waiting for us when we arrived and he explained to us...

Lovely place to stay with great facilities, decoration and had a homely feel to it. As a solo traveller I expected the staff to be more friendly than they were so it was a bit lonely in the evenings after a full day travelling. I think generally hungarians are not friendly people so this may not be a fair reflection...

We stayed for a couple of nights at the Lavender Circus Hostel at the end of October 2016. We had to cut short our trip because of a family emergency, and the staff couldn't have been kinder or more helpful. We would have loved to stay longer. Our room was clean, warm and quirky and the communal kitchen/reception area was...

Stayed here for four nights in one of the apartments. Stairs are a problem on arrival and departure days because of the luggage. Staff is very friendly and helpful and security is very good. The lighting in our room was very poor and the decor is quirky but the price and location are great.

I stayed in the summer of 2015. Overall the hostel is pretty and the decorations make it feel very inviting. But keep in mind that if you're staying in summer there is only a fan so I couldn't sleep for most of the week as it was 35C outside. Also the bed wasn't very comfortable and if you're staying there...

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
