In Budapest for a week we are thrilled with this hotel. Great value at A$120pn but the quality is there. Room is well fitted, quiet and immaculate. Walking distance to all the main sites. Beautifully newly restored Art Deco building. Restaurant is high quality. Rooftop swimming pool a bonus. Staff all helpful and happy to give all tourist advice. Free...

I've been to this hotel many times over the last three years, and the service just went down the scale: from unpleasant staff, to useless waiters in the restaurant, cleaning team not so efficient, and worn out linen. Wifi is better in any burger joint/coffee shop in the neighborhood than in the hotel. Everyday your bathroom get flooded, and they...

We spent 4 nights in this hotel and it was an excellent choice. The location is slightly offbeat but the neighborhood is an up and coming area with interesting architecture, and old junk shops to prowl around in. The metro is close by and its only a short walk to Andrassy. The hotel lobby and bar area are beautiful. Staff...

This is a fairly good hotel in Budapest with a good location. My stay started in a disspapointing manner as I specifically requested a queen bed and ended up in a twin bed room. Receptionist was not helpful until I asked to discuss with the manager. He initially told me that the entire hotel is booked and he has no...

Recently spent four nights in this beautiful city at this lovely hotel. Not enormous rooms but adequate, very clean and breakfasts were good. All staff that we met were very polite friendly and helpful and the hotel is in the middle of everything, very convenient. Looking to return with three of my female friends for "a special birthday".

Me and my boyfriend visited Budapest for a few days in April and stayed at this hotel for two nights. We managed to get a brilliant deal with breakfast included. The staff were very friendly. The room was a good size and bed very comfy. The bath room was very spacious and the shower was great. They had everything you...

This hotel is really nicely finished, modern with friendly, helpful staff. The breakfast was help yourself buffet style with really good selections. The rooms are really nice but very tight, as you can't get two people to pass around the bottom of the bed. Our room only had a shower (no bath) in the ensuite, obviously a toilet & basin...

Dear Sally B, Thank you for your feedback both for your positive and negative comments. You are right, the position of the bathroom mirror is a bit higher than normal, sorry for that. Regarding your other comment I wish to infrom you, our standard rooms are not too big, but they have a really good price-value ratio. Thank you for...

Great location. Nice and comfortable rooms. Staff very nice. Nice bathrooms except the square toilet which we kept hitting our legs on. And the tub was a bit high to climb into fro us short legged people. A little too modern for our tastes. Everything else fine.

Dear Bluebonet, Thank you for your feedback regarding your recent stay at Continental Hotel Budapest****Superior. Also thank you to choose us from the far Houston. You are right, we are a little modern, but I can say, we made a good job with the restoration of the ruins of the early twentieth century art nouveau Hungaria Spa. Best regards,

Way out from the best part of Budapest and located in an area that is just plain seedy and run down. Not a good location for a tourist and our travel agent will be told so when we get home. Our room was a triumph of poor design. Badly located power points, a shower recess that qualifies for the award...

Dear Rob25436, I am very sorry to read that the quality of our Hotel was so much under your expections. I don’t share your opinion about the location, although I know, we are not very next to the Danube river as other major hotels, but our Hotel is more central, all the main attractions of Budapest are in walking distance....

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
