When we arrived at the Retro Hotel , we have not known how to enter the hotel because the main door to hotel (properly located in block) was closed and then we have called to hotel staff and the owner has been arrived and he has taken us to flat. While we were walking up the stairs , the neighbours have...

When we arrived at the 'hotel', there are no signs anywhere to let you know if you've found the right place, not even around the back of the building, except for on the top of the intercom there was a yellowed scrap of paper with a phone number on it. We pressed the buzzer of the corresponding apartment: no answer....

No sign to indicate its existence. Hungary has fences and gates everywhere. Neighbours didn't seem to know it existed. We phone up the international number provided, no answer. Immediate call back informs us someone will let us in in 15 minutes. Asked twice for a receipt, without getting one. Rooms clean; fresh linen provided. Found them on booking.com

Not too far from the city...

Though the room service is really good. It is pretty far from the city center and from the railway station, but the railway (HEV) to...

No AC (summers in Budapest are very hot). There is no safe in the room but there are crawling insects in the bathroom. The hotel is located in the middle of nowhere. I saw employee returning the food from the plate to the breakfast buffet. Stay away from that place.
