We stayed here in 2011 and must have been among the first guests. The hostel is essentially the first floor of a house and used to be a medical practice. The hostel consists of an eight-bed dorm and a double room, a common room with a TV set, a kitchen and a communal bathroom. I don't remember if the place...

Shocking place to stay..... yes it is cheap, however the pictures on here must be from years ago. They fail to show the huge amounts of mould and damp. Safety lockers....well one between 6 people. We booked a room for 4 and they did not even have any rooms for 4 so ended up in a 6 bed. The area...

Although it is far from the Danube and city center, it is a short walking distance to the famous Széchenyi thermal bath, Heroes' Square, Vajdahunyad Castle, Art Gallery, Museum of Fine Arts, Varosliget Park, Circus, Zoo, Andrássy Avenue. Best thing about this hostel was the owner who's a man of integrity and generosity. It is not a big hostel and...

For 6 euros a night I was slightly skeptical, but after seeing the reviews I thought why not. Turns out it really is good value for money. The location isn't great, but there is good public transport nearby so not too much of an issue. It's clean, has a fully equipped kitchen and the wifi is excellent. I do agree...

the hotel is 1-1,5 hour by foot from the centre / Keleti railway station, but close to the Zoo, Vidam park (which, unfortunately, was closed), famous thermal baths, beautiful park or the Heroes´ Square....Dennis was very helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and very nice. I appreciate the free towels. Would have appreciated towel for the floor in the...

Completely baffled by previous reviews. Visited this hostel only two weeks ago and the photos on the website here and at other sites such as hostelbookers etc, do not match the actual hostel! The image of the modern tv room DOES NOT EXIST, instead we were shown the half plastered common room with dirty sofas. Red bedroom is also confusing...

I hadn't expected much of this place given the extremely low price, so was very pleasantly surprised to find a fabulous hostel - Dennis and Anna are extremely friendly and welcoming, the location is not that central but easily accessible and close to some interesting places. Highly recommended.

If you are going to Budapest because of the baths, Lowcostel is just down the street. It's the best bath in Budapest. That's one reason to stay at this hostel. Low cost is another. It's clean, friendly, has a good kitchen and very helpful in finding places that interests you. Anna and Dennis were very knowledgeable. I would recommend this...

Lowcostel is located a couple of kms by foot from downtown Budapest on the Pest side. It is very lose to the city park and a lot of attractions such as Scheneyi bathhouse, Hosok Tere, Vajdahunyad castle and so on. I am a walker, so the walk from the hostel to downtown area along Andrassi St was great in my...

I was looking for a short and cheap vacation to Budapest. In the Internet I found that one for only 9€ per night. I didn't expected to much for the price. Even if the location is not the best, but you can get very fast and easy by public transport into the city. The owners are very nice and help...
