We booked an executive room, because the visit was part of our honeymoon. The room was nice and modern but quite small. It had a balcony, which was nice but not relevant for us at the start of March. :o) The bathroom was modern and had a shower and, like the bedroom, it was clean. The breakfast buffet had a...

The location of the hotel is excellent, the rooms are clean and the breakfast was quite good. First we got a room next to the elavator and it got noisy in the morning, but the staff was kind enough to change it

We spent 3 nights at this lovely quiet, fairly small hotel in February. The hotel in Buda part of the city was in a great location, set at the bottom of castle hill and just a five minute walk to the Chained Bridge, where we walked over to the busier part of the city; Pest. It is also five minutes...

Hotel is excellently situated near Chain Bridge and at the base of Castle Hill. Both a three minute walk from. Being so close to the bridge made it incredibly easy to walk over to Pest. Being on the side of Buda allowed us to easily get to the top of Caslte Hill (15 minute walk) St. Stephens Chuch (20 minute)...

Stayed here for three nights at the end of February. The hotel is exceptionally clean, the room was very pleasant with a comfortable bed and the breakfast was excellent - scrambled and hard boiled eggs, sausages, meats, cheese, cereal, yogurt, etc. - something for everyone. Our room had a safe and it worked just fine. The location is superb, it's...

Located on the classy Buda side...Definitely an impressive place to stay. It's a small hotel, but wow...what a location! Just minutes away from the Chain Bridge and over to Pest, The friendly staff were very helpful in reception, room always made up daily and the breakfast buffet a perfect start to the day. Will definitely stay again!

My Love stayed there in february, for business. He is turkish, and I came with him to help, since I'm hungarian so I can help with the language. The 'receptionist' girl was quite rude, first of all asked him if he knows, that the room is only for ONE person, and looked at me like I'm a prostitute. (He was...

Hotel ok if I was to return to Budapest I would not stay here again and over the Pest side - was to far at night to walk back from the main city. No bar at hotel. Booked superior room with balcony what waste money you are actually looking directly onto a block of flats such lovely outside furniture but...

Stayed in the Carlton Hotel for 3 nights. The hotel is located on the Buda side which is the quieter side of Budapest, should you be looking for late nights and parties I suggest you look on the other side of the city. The hotel is very close to a few landmarks with easy bus routes (350 HUF or £1)...

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighbourhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
