Stay at one of the capital’s iconic buildings! Hotel Budapest – formerly called Round Hotel – caused a major stir as soon as it was built. The high-rise circular building full of windows was considered an architectural oddball, and so in time became one of the symbols of Budapest and a favourite with visitors. With its 15 stories and 64 metres in height, it’s still the tallest hotel in the country. From its higher floors, you get a breathtaking panoramic view of the various landmarks of the Buda and Pest sides of the city. The hotel, located in green surroundings at the foot of the Buda hills, is an excellent choice whether you want to go sightseeing, or you’ve come for a professional event, or if you want to go for a walk in the Buda hills: the buses or trams stopping in front of the hotel will take you to the M2 metro in Széll Kálmán Square in a few minutes, and also to many nice place in Buda, without having to change. The cog-wheel railway, a major tourist attraction in itself, stops right opposite the hotel, offering easy access to the Buda hills. The nearby Városmajor park is a great place for long walks, jogging and other outdoor exercise. Those arriving by car or coach can park their vehicle in the car park in front of the hotel.

The Hotel Budapest may be a throwback to the days before the Iron Curtain was torn down but don’t take that as a bad thing. From the friendly greeting at the front desk to the amazing view from my room and a hefty breakfast full of old fashioned winter staples watched over by

Me and my friend stayed here only for 1 night but we are really pleased with this stay! Everything was excellent: from wi-fi till breakfast in the morning. By the way breakfast in this hotel is the special issue: wide choose and no limit food. Really recommend! Good sound

My partner and I had a really great stay at the hotel- both of us commented on how well we slept at night. The staff were also very polite and helpful. Perhaps the only minor downfall was location. It is not in the centre of the city and during the day it is fine as the hotel

Hi, sorry it was a cool time of the year when we went so didn't use the air-con but to be honest, when I tried it it didn't work but I just put that down to the time of the year. Shuttle from the airport to your residence in the city is the best option. There is a desk at the airport where you can book this. Hope this helps.

Dear Dave, The Hotel Budapest is quite far from the airport, appr. 25 km. The route with public transportation (bus 200 E; M3 metro, bus 5 or M2 metro) takes appr. 1 hour and 15 minutes and with taxi appr. 45 minutes. You can get official yellow cab at the airport or we can organize it for you, the quote depends on the traffic, but you can calculate with 9000-12000 HUF. If you need any further information I am at your disposal. Best regards, Zsuzsanna Honfi Reservation Manager
