This is a hotel with good installations, it isn´t cool but It has everything you need. One of the things we loved was the breakfast. Staff does it at the time, coffe, scrambled eggs.. the buffet has enough. The hotel is located in the Buda district (very near Danubio river) and everything tourist is easy to arrive. It´s well communicated... More

Stayed for three nights last weekend with four other friends. Found the hotel clean and comfortable. It's in a good position near Elizabeth bridge so a short walk to the other side for restaurants and bars. Breakfast was good and plentiful. My only niggle was we returned to the hotel one night around 10 so not late and asked if... More

I stayed here about two weeks and it became my temporary home. When I went out and came back, I always thought that I was going home. Receptionists kind smiles always make you feel welcome, The important thing that it is very calm, clean and safe place, very near to city center, You can cross the Erzsébet híd (It takes... More

My friend and I stayed in the Hotel Orion for 5 nights after it was recommended by friends who had just returned! The hotel is situated right next to the beautiful Budapest Castle in a very quiet part of the city. The staff are all very friendly and the atmosphere was homely. As two young ladies in our twenties we... More

Stayed for two nights, it's very clean and and towels changed every day. Staff are very welcoming and helpful. We booked breakfast this was good continental style and they also cook eggs & omelettes to order. Very good hotel on the buda side very close to the castle it's a must stay.

Great staff. Great location. Very clean. Has a little jym. Great value to the money. Has a grossery store near by and a place to rent bikes and skoiters. Just one thing missing - a big blancket that will be good for 2 people instead of two small blanckets.

Four of us went for a long weekend. Our original hotel was cancelled by the crash of Low Cost Holidays. Found this hotel on trip advisor and was an excellent choice. We walked about 10 minutes from the nearest Metro on the Pest side of the Danube across Elizabeth Bridge. Entering the hotel from a hot outside immediately hit by... More

My partner and I stayed at the Orion hotel for 4 nights and it was the perfect place to stay. A very friendly family-run hotel. Very warm welcome, chatty, interested and very efficient service. A great location right next to the River Danube, and short walk into the city centre. I would definitely stay again.

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighbourhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
