I spent a week at Hotel Orion Várkert in Budapest. It is located just one block behind the Danube Promenade on the Buda side: Very close to a Tram stop, close to Erzsebeth Bridge. A few stops with the tram will take you from the hotel to a Metro Station. The Hotel is located os a quiet street. You can...

We spent 3 nights last week at this lovely little hotel, the staff were so helpful and the breakfast was excellent. It's in a really good location next to the Elizabeth bridge on the Buda side, but easy walking distance over to the Pest side.

We spent 3 nights at this delightful little hotel on the Buda side of the Danube. Excellent location, right by Elizabeth Bridge. The rooms were very clean and the staff friendly and helpful. Great breakfast included in our deal. We would highly recommend the Hotel Orion Vakert.

Stayed for 4 nights Monday-Friday on a city break with my partner. On arrival we realised I had accidentally booked the room for one person not two but the receptionist was fine about it, they amended the room rate and it was only an extra 10 euros per night so this was fine (total cost came to just over £200...

Small hotel with very helpful staff. We hadn't included breakfast in our booking but they let us add it when we arrived and we were glad we did. On the Buda side which is hilly it is at the river (though not really a river view). That made crossing to the Pest side an easy walk.

Located on the Buda side of the city this is a great little hotel which we would highly recommend. The staff were very helpful, and all spoke English very well and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was large and had everything we needed to use it as a base for our visit to Budapest. One small criticism is...

Great hotel in Buda close to the Elisabeth bridge and about 10 minutes walk to the funicular that takes you up to the old Castle area. Quiet with only one bar nearby but only a short walk over the bridge into bustling Pest. Good clean room and very good buffet breakfast

OK, so not the poshest of places, for us Brits think of a slightly European travelodge... but... Great friendly service, nice breakfast, nice family feel... well placed as dispite on Buda side, it's 5 mins walk from the Elizabeth bridge... But, best of all was the price! Less than £60 for two nights!!

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighbourhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
