I cannot agree with the overall positive reviews for Hotel Papillon. It is true that the staff is generally friendly and helpful, but it seems more of a way to desperately patch the various faults of the place than a genuine attitude. The furniture in...More
Close to city center. Very fast internet. You will love the breakfast. Lovely and helpful stuff. There is no parking place. You have to park and pay in the street. Beds are ok. You can stay up to 5 people in a room.
I knew that we hadn't paid a lot for our room but I read the reviews and they sounded ok. On arrival I was slightly worried as the hotel is situated in a quite shabby street and the entrance is basic, however we were pleasantly...More
I worked in tourism until 2008, so I knew that the hotel has a special new room with with view. I stayed in off season (January) in Budapest and I got the best room with balcony at discounted rate. There are two rooms like this.

So it seems there are balconies facing the pool area. Are there balconies in the front facing the street and is it a good view? From google maps looks like there isn't much of a view from the front because of the building in front. Also, my Girlfriend and I plan on walking everywhere but reviewers have been complaining about the hike up to the Hotel. Is it really that bad and hilly?

If you are looking for views, I would not pay the extra for a balcony. The walk was a little difficult for me ( 66 yrs ) , one stop on the way up. For a younger person there should be no real difficulty.
