We booked the Art'otel after reading Tripadvisor reviews, initially I was a bit worried being on the Buda side of the river, however, this was ignorance on my part as I didn't know too much about Budapest until we arrived and discovered that there is plenty to do on both sides of the city and most places can be reached easily...

Excellent location for sightseeing. Very close to Good transport links. The palace and parliament buildings are beautifully light up at night. Friendly staff and good service. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

My daughter and I stayed here for three nights in March 2015. The hotel is very clean, the rooms spacious with everything you will need and the beds comfortable. The view over the Danube was truly lovely expecially at night when the Parliament is lit up. The breakfast was delicious with a huge choice and it was easy to travel...

Stayed for two nights in March. Staff very helpful and good amenities. Room clean and spacious. Our room had a view of the river, main road a bit noisy when window open. This hotel is based on the quieter side of Budapest and if you want to be in the thick of the bars and restaurants then probably not best...

For me this hotel on the whole is good to very good but is let down by a few minor details. As a result, this hotel can go from being fantastic to average. Thus, my review is broken down into five sub-headings with a rating for each: Rooms - 4/5 When I first arrived at the hotel, I was put...

we stayed here for four nights on a package with Jet2. The hotel is right on waterfront, separated by two roads, one in front of hotel and the other lower down on actual riverbank. The noise from the traffic was not a problem, with the roads being quiet overnight, although traffic got much busier around 7.30am. Views from the rooms...

Although other reviews had suggested upgrading and paying more for a view of the river, we opted to stick with a room at the back of the hotel and were rewarded with an equally stunning view of the Fisherman's Bastion, which is lit at night. Since we were in Budapest for a few nights only, we spent little time in...

Stayed here with my grandma for three nights and it was ideal for us. The location is excellent, right on the river and easy to go to all the main attractions. The breakfast wasn't great. You could pay €14 for a one off or €10 per breakfast it you commit to having it at the hotel every day of your...

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighbourhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
