Very convenient. A tipical hotel to spend a couple of nights. Nothing fancy nothing bad. Clean. Close to the underground station but not to the city center. The staff is kind and helpful. An ok experience

Located on the Buda side of the city, this hotel is very nice and comfortable with many amenities. It's easy to access the city centre of Budapest by transit, with the train station nearby. Or it's about a twenty minute stroll if you want to walk over the bridge. Overall it was a nice alternative in a quieter part of...

Hotel staff was very helpful when we felt we were short-changed at a local store. Location was handy for using public transportation and the park across the street provided a nice spot for walks. Rooms are comfortable

The worst service I have experienced in my life. For starting, the rooms are very old (it looks like they haven't change or cleaned the beds or anything in the rooms for 30 years), there was trash in the room from the last guests. They don't clean the toilets, didn't pick up the trash from the floor. The walls are...

Everything was great as always. Definitely will stay again when I am in Budapest. Perfect location, friendly staff, nice rooms and excellent food. The breakfast is great, the wi-fi was working good, the food and the service in the restaurant were amazing!

Stayed here as part of a New Years celebration trip. Upon arriving at the hotel we soon realised that the hotel is further away from the city centre than expected. A metro station is a 2 minute walk away from the hotel but the line only runs till half 11. A couple of days after arrival I accidentally left my...

Service provided by staff superb other than for mess up of gala dinner booking otherwise nothing was a bother to them. Bedrooms are tired in terms of décor but clean and well furnished. Great location for travel around city by metro or train.

We had a wonderful winter get-away in the Mercure Budapest Buda hotel. Clean rooms, nice restaurant, thick walls. What made our stay exceptionally good was this: My boyfriend and were trying to get tickets to a Budapest Club for Silvester, but for some reason couldn't pay with our card. Mr. Niedermüller from the stuff then promised us help, since he...

Stayed at this Hotel, Mercure Budapest Buda from 30th December to 1st January. Upon arrival, Hotel seemed clean and tidy. Checked in and went to our room with very vague directions. Upon entering the room it seemed like we had entered a 1970s smoking room. The smell was awful a mixture of cigarettes and staleness. The room was not particularly...

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighbourhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
