Just got back fro 6 nights staying at the InterContinental in Budapest, the hotel is in an amazing location with wonderful views. I found the staff to be really friendly and helpful with what ever we needed. The rooms are a good size with very comfy beds, if you want a river view you have to pay extra but I...

Nice hotel. Great rooms overlooking Buda castle and the Danube. Staff are very sweet and accommodating. Rooms quite tight but views make up for it. However the hotel serves as a meeting/departure point for many cruises on the Danube and the elegant lobby is turned into a bingo hall with people milling, shouting and roller bags everywhere. It is not...

Pricey but well worth it particularly if you are in difficulty as we were. Mum was ill when we arrived - no problem the staff organised a doctor's visit and then an ambulance. A staff member even phoned our room and told us to take a robe, and towels and a pillow to hospital!!! As we were due to go...

We stayed during a 4 night city break and can't fault the hotel or the staff. We did not have a room overlooking the Danube and did not feel it was worth the extra cost to upgrade; this did not however detract from our stay as the room we had was large and very well equipped. Our favourite time was...

Arrived jet lagged and bleary eyed, but this hotel was a welcome respite after 3 planes to get here from the U.S. The staff was warm and welcoming, hotel is beautiful, room is clean and comfortable, and if you provide your IHG membership number you will receive complimentary internet and late check-out. Very nice. The location is right near the...

A fantastic hotel with friendly staff. This hotel is so centrally located for all sightseeing. You can walk everywhere. You are right on the Danube River and the Chain Bridge is just outside the door. The breakfast buffet is to die for! You will not be disappointed with your stay.

We visit Budapest for the Grand Prix and this is the 2nd year I have stayed at this hotel and cannot fault it for location, food, service. The hotel has fantastic views accross the river from the breakfast terrace and also the outside bar. Hotel food is excellent and the selection at breakfast is second to none. Would reccomend this hotel.

A great hotel, especially because it's location (on the riverside), it's very close (by walking) to the famous Vaci Street (where all the Coffe shops and shopping are located), to Chain Bridge (the most beautiful bridge in Budapest) and to Buda. The Breakfast was high standard, and you can actually see the Chaing Bridge and Buda from the Breakfast Room....

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
