Came over for a 3 night stay for my birthday, the hotel is going to be refurbished but it certainly didn't detract from our stay. The staff are very polite, courteous and professional, our room was perfect, plenty of hot water and warm, we used it for sleeping as Budapest has so much to do. The man at the bar...

Hotel is located right in the middle of the pedestrian mall. Had a room at the back end, overlooking a a parallel street next to the mall, so was nice and quiet. Ideal spot as spouse enjoys shopping and browsing on the mall.

Quite surprised at all the negative reviews. Stayed here 25/11/2016 for 3 nights in room 304, a twin room at the front of the hotel. The bedroom was a good size with plenty of available electrical sockets. The beds were low but ours were very comfortable. Duvets light but extra blankets were available in the wardrobe but due to the...

Pick it up cause it is central. Very close by the Christmas market. Hotel lobby is standard and has a bar. My room was small but ok and clean. Overall a regular deal for a 130€ for a bio-privilege room including wifi

This hotel does justice to its name. The city centre means exactly that. Easy access to the main attractions and shopping venues. Additionally, at Xmas it is within easy reach from the Xmas Seasonal Market in Vorosmarty Square which is really fantastic. Apart from this very important feature, the Mercure is unfortunately showing its age and is in great need...

Pretty good location of the hotel for the price. Wifi connectivity is pretty bad. The facilities are quite old. Awaiting the renovation as per the ads placed in the elevators. Hopefully will rate better when I stay after the renovations.

Best location in Budapest. walking distance to all attractions. We staid there for 4 nights. Christmas Market is 2 min. away. The rooms are relatively old but very clean. The bathroom is tiny and needs renovation. Breakfast is very large and welcoming. Not a topical 4 star hotel but, very recommended.

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
