Booked a privilege room for a few days prior to our river cruise. Top floor accommodation - 2 bathrooms and a sauna. Nightly access to drinks and canapes (yet there was only ever 4 guests there at any time!). Food OK as appertisers, wines were local. One of the smallest and one of the most uncomfortable rooms I`v ever had in Budapest. To be honest ine elevator and on walls there are signs that management is happy that they started reconstruction of hotel which will take some time in phases, but it would be very fair and honest too to offer only refurbished room not this,...

In the middle of shopping district complete with all the fast food places such as Mcdonalds and KFC. Walking distance to the river and the hop on hop off tourist bus. We were here for the Christmas markets which were literately a couple of hundred yards away from hotel door. The hotel has a bar but no restaurant however there...

The Mercure is located on the busy pedestrianised shopping street, Vaci utca, and was a short walk to the Christmas markets (the Vörösmarty markets being the closest). The hotel lobby and bar are modern but the corridors and rooms are a little dated. Free wifi was available throughout the hotel. It is a good base for exploring Budapest!

Excellent breakfast. Excellent location. Friendly staff. The Hotel is a little bit worn down at this moment wich reflects in the pricing when you compare it with other Accor Hotels in Budapest. Today that means very good value. However, renovation has already begun (January 2017). According to the "future" pictures we saw during our stay, it's probably going to be...

the location is great, the hotel rooms are not new and with some problem, for example the shower isn't comfortable. Price is good, also the breakfast. Unfortunately they don't have many sweets or nutella.

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
