The Baross was great. When you walk out from the station, its just on the left of the square, just after the Pizza Hut. There's a blue door, with a watchman and it's inside there. The rooms were nice and clean, big with a safe and Air-Con. You must make sure the curtain is behind the Air-Con for it to...

A great place to stay in Hungary. Approx £20-25 a night and that included a large breakfast running from 7am-11am. The staff are very friendly and with the train station and metro stop just across the road it really is a great location. At present the metro is having work done so this line doesb't run into Buda which is...

At a cost of less than £25 per night for a more than spacious en-suite double room and breakfast an ideal place to stay. Booked the hotel through Easyjet which was a lot cheaper than the hotel direct or many of the other hotel websites. Have just spent six nights and were more than happy with this pleasant hotel. All...

I would agree with what most reviewers have already said. If you are planning on staying at the Baross, then you will certainly get good value for money. The staff were very helpful and multilingual, so my hungarian guidebook was only referred to when in restaurants or in stations! Our room was very big, it was on the same level...

After reading mixed reviews about the hotel I thought I'd give it a try over new year 2005/06. While it was tolerable I definitely wouldn't stay there again. One of the main problems was the noise between rooms. Whenever the person above us showered it sounded like they were actually in our bathroom it was that clear. You can also...

This is a nice little hotel which is situated in the "Pest" part of Budapest. The location is good, and it is well connected to all of the main attractions (either by walking or by underground/tram). The rooms are modern, clean, and inexpensive, and the staff are helpful, and speak good English. The hotel has good security, and they are...

Breakfast variety of buffet food not great and coffee very cold. Reception staff very helpful but cleaners very loud and make a lot of noise very early in the morning (especially if your in room 619 next to the cleaning staff room).

We stayed for 3 nights at Hotel Baross and overall it was a very nice hotel and great value for money. The rooms are spacious, clean and have a nice bathroom. Our first night was spent in room 610, this is the worst room you could possibily get as it is above the reception, next to a stairway and next...

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
