Stayed for 2 nights on a business trip - situated in the centre of Budapest - about 20 mins work to the Danube. The receptionists are profession (especially when checking in). Rooms are spacious and clean. Very good breakfast - lots of varieties. The waiters are very keen to clear your plate ... I hadn't finished my breakfast - went...

A very luxury historic 5 star Hotel. Amazing Spa which is included. Rooms unfortunately didn't live up to it though there are better rooms which may have been done up. Bathrooms were not bad tbf. Air con didnt work well at all so we just opened window. Location ok. Would consider staying here again but would upgrade room.

Hotel promises much but service and delivery doesn't match. Stayed in most basic room without breakfast so can't comment on food (It is 26 euros each to add this on.) Room average size with comfortable bed and nice bedding. Some staining on wall by air con unit and carpet etc seen better days. Would guess it is due a refurb....

To be honest I wasn't sure what type of room we would be staying in as we booked through Expedia. Two adults and a teenager. With access to the spa and swimming pool sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. We were lucky enough to be given the apartment a large master bedroom and another bedroom with two single beds door to...

The Corinthia is a grand hotel and we were not disappointed. The lobby is large, with areas to sit, and a lobby bar which was very comfortable. We stayed for 4 nights and we're pleased with the property and the services of the hotel. We booked an "executive" room (which had a lower rate than the same sized standard room)...

We really enjoyed the service, staff, executive lounge, the room, the breakfast, the spa... Minuses: the street was very noisy, the air conditioned didn't work (it was too hot), fake nutella at the breakfast.

This is a beautiful hotel and luxuriously appointed. We booked through booking.com for a fab rate (3 rooms for 3 nights). Per the booking request, one was a twin room - and as requested. Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
First opened in 1896 as the Grand Hotel Royal; a hub for the elite of nineteenth century society, and painstakingly restored to its original glory some hundred years later, the Corinthia Budapest – located in the heart of the city - brings together classic hotel opulence with the finest five-star luxury of modern times. While the gracious frontage, marble floors, sweeping staircase and breathtaking, six-story Atrium preserved from the original building offer glorious hints of a bygone age, the levels of comfort and convenience are all reassuringly up to date.A particular feature is the hotel’s original Royal Spa centre, with 15-metre pool, now extensively refurbished by the current owners to reflect the very best in 21st-century spa luxury while retaining the grandeur of the past. Without doubt the finest hotel in Budapest. Built in classic French Renaissance style, the Grand Royal became a beacon of luxury in the days of Emperor Franz Joseph 1. Designed as a centrepiece of Hungary’s celebrations to mark its first thousand years, the hotel’s grand-style architecture and unrivaled guest facilities were seen as state-of the art for the times. Much of the building was destroyed in the 1956 Hungarian Revolution and despite re-opening in more modest form in the 1960’s, the Grand Royal remained a shadow of its former self until the 1990’s; when new owners Corinthia Hotels gave the green light for an extensive restoration project that would retain the best of the old, while sensitively adding the new. Once restored to its original splendour, the newly named Corinthia Hotel Budapest re-opened its doors, as a five-star luxury property, in 2003. ... more   less
