If you want to feel like you are back in time in Budapest history this place is for you. Atmosphere is dark and dated. Armored statues are in the small lobby. Owner/manager was very pleasant and is very proud of this hotel he built back in the 80’s. Our room on second floor left much to be desired. The bed was too short for my 5’11” husband. The drapes were torn from the rod on one end preventing them to fully cover the window for privacy from the street traffic. The bathroom was barely closet sized with old fixtures. There is a free buffet breakfast included in the reasonable price of the hotel but was mostly cold cuts, cheese, hard boiled eggs and cold cereal. We couldn’t tolerate staying more than one night here. But on the upside the WiFi was excellent.
Good location, not far from train/metro station (about 6 minutes of bus riding). I stayed two times during the period of Formula 1 Hungaroring and everything was fine. Staff was very friendly. I recommend with pleasure.
A rather different place with quirky interior in an amazing building and friendly staff. Bus stop just out in front makes travels very easy even if a few minutes by bus to a metro station. Did not have breakfast in our deal. Clean and comfortable.
We flew from Germany to Budapest and stayed for 4 nights in this hotel. The owner of the hotel was very kind, took care of everything and had a great offer regarding to breakfast. The rooms were very cozy and there was good WiFi all over the Hotel. The sourrounding is very quiet and near to the city. Overall our stay was very good and we require you to stay there if you want to come visit Budapest.
My partner and I stayed at this hotel Last weekend for F1 What a wonderful find!! Very reasonable prices I would describe it as a hotel full of Hungarian ambiance. I travel a lot and never stayed anywhere like this before. The rooms are a bit dated however you have everything you need with air con in the rooms and somehow it just adds to the character. It is not 5 star indeed it's better due to the personal service you receive from the owner. He is an English speaking lovely kind humble man who will do anything for you. He sorted out Taxi's for us for F1 using a company he knew would give us the best deal and even supplied us with a blanket to take to sit on. Every evening he would sort out taxis for us and showed how to get about using buses and trams. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel it is approximately 10 min by taxi into the city and 20 to F1. Breakfast is provided and he will make you a lovely fresh omelette to order at a time you would like, also Provided is a continental style breakfast along with cereals yoghurts tea coffee and juice. I would highly recommend this hotel it is a wonderful experience you will never forget so much better than a faceless franchise. If I am fortunate enough to go to F1 next year I will be returning to this hotel. Thank you for a lovely stay …
