Rooms were clean, location was near public transportation, and the restaurant connected to the hotel was very good. The service was timely and discrete. I would recommend this hotel for business or pleasure.

On arrival, the check-in was pleasant, the staff were fluent in the English language, and helpful. The room was ready for early occupancy! The room was equipped with a water kettle, but no tea/coffee making facilities. A request to housekeeping had to be directed to Reception (language). The facilities were generally of a high standard, however the rugs on the...

Very nice place to stay. Close to all city sites and public transport. Reception desk staff were good but restaurant staff could be more friendly and attentive to customers needs. Some could do with knowing a little more English. .

Historic hotel in the City Centre, Classic styling with super friendly and helpful staff and a fast and efficient concierge service as there is no parking onsite and we had to park on the super busy road out the front. This was made easy with the speedy service provided in grabbing our bags and getting them inside. The front desk...

Everyone in the hotel was very helpful. Metro is right next to the hotel and Market is walking distance. Other gigs are not too far away. Our room was larger than normal hotel rooms. Good alum for our money.

Went to the Astoria restaurant twice as it was great. The food and service were great and both times there was live classical music--you really felt you were in Budapest. And the price was very reasonable.

We enjoyed our stay at the Astoria. Good service, excellent location for at first time trip to Budapest. The breakfast restaurant was a bit crowded at times, but no big deal. Our room was quite large and had a small balcony.

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
