My husband and I and another couple stayed at St. George's Residence in September, 2012. Our suites were huge, lavishly furnished, and a welcome change after stays in small hotels--with very small rooms-- in Greve and Rome. An entire family could comforably stay in one of the hotel's suites. Hotel personnel were extremely helpful and gracious, guiding us in wine...

Staying at the St. George Residence was a highlight of our visit to Budapest and one of the best hotels we stayed at during our entire trip. The room was spacious (we had a room with a kitchen) and it was very nice to be able to open a bottle of wine at the end of our day and hang...

We chose this hotel as it was offered by LuxuryLink.com - that we use extensively-and because of the mainly positive reviews on Trip Advisor. We were not disappointed! Our package included the Gold Suite, for 3 nights, with breakfasts, welcome bottle of Sparkling Wine (very nice) and bottle of white wine, plus an evening meal on 1 night. It was...

I liked everything: the location of the hotel (in the old part of Buda, near the bridge section), number (lived in bronze) service. Very hospitable and friendly staff. The restaurant at the hotel are extremely delicious. Special thanks to Diana, Lena, and Istvan. Inconvenient to wash in the bathroom because of the lack of curtains

We got a junior suite with a discount package: the hotel is rather expensive and is useful to find some discount. Big rooms with almost antique furniture in a perfect location to visit the Buda side of the city. Parking is a bit complicated but there was always room for e car within few yards from the hotel. The personnel...

We booked a special for a Gold suite at the Bronze rate. It was located right on the courtyard, nicely decorated and very spacious. The building may be 700 years old, but it's certainly been remodeled and updated. The king bed was comfy, and the bathroom was huge. Our package did not include breakfast, which was fine with us, as...

We stayed here for 2 nights and wish we could have stayed longer! Bronze suite was terrific! Excellent location for exploring the city. We took public transportation & walked everywhere else. Loved the welcome bottle of wine & welcome champagne. Wonderful courtyard. Ate one meal which was fine. Enjoyed seeing closed beautiful conference rooms as well. Gracious staff. LOVED it...

We had a pleasant stay there, but also some weird experiences. I chose it, because of its location directly in old town of Budapest. I had to do a bit of research to find out how to get there, because traffic is limited there. On one page in the net, I read that you need a special permittance to enter...

Stayed at the St. George from July 19 to 23. The hotel was a great find through luxurylink.com. The offer included three nights with breakfast every morning and dinner one evening. The hotel was very clean and the staff could not have been accomodating. Everyone went out of their way to be helpful. The hotel had a range of different...

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighbourhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
